COULD AUSTRALIA’S NEXT ‘BIG THING’ BE THE BIG NOOSA TOURIST?
Queensland already has the big pineapple, the big cassowary, the big watermelon, the big Brolga and even the big Golden Gumboot (in Tully). Now could Tourism Noosa be pushing for THE BIG TOURIST to be erected in the prime location overlooking Hell’s Gates on the famous Noosa National Park walk?
Tourism Noosa has been looking for even more creative ways to spend the $2.52 million it receives from Noosa ratepayers each year.
“With that generous support from Noosa Council, we’ve employed an excellent team of brand managers, digital marketing managers, social media coordinators, content creators, product marketing managers, marketing directors, SEO specialists, Public Relations Managers, marketing associates, copywriters, market research analysts and senior managers, but we know Noosa expects even more from us”, a marketing analyst told us while sipping his Pina Colada in Hastings Street.
At a recent three-day, marketing brainstorming session on Hayman Island, Tourism Noosa staff came up with the idea of THE BIG TOURIST to celebrate the more than 2-million tourists who come to Noosa each year, attempting to set new records for the number of people who can fit into a 4-bedroom house for the weekend.
As the spokesman told us proudly “what better way to celebrate Tourism Noosa’s contribution than a giant, fibreglass tourist in our most iconic National Park viewpoint.”
