Huge congratulations to Alex who did this morning’s Run Melbourne Half Marathon in a great time of 1hr and 51mins. It was just off his PB half time for Run Melbourne and he said he just didn’t feel his best today which can happen and it’s not that big deal as this was always being used as a prep race for the Geelong Marathon later this year.
We have been building his kms up lately in prep for the marathon and I think this could have been a factor on why he didn’t feel 100% today and as I mentioned earlier that’s fine as this years marathon is his main goal with everything tracking well.
I little bit of recovery this week for Alex and then we continue to build his marathon base for a great result later this year

Huge congratulations to Melissa and her sister who did the Sunshine Coast 50km walk on Friday from Noosa to Mooloolaba which started at 6am and she finished at 5pm!!!
It was in windy tough conditions but I’m glad Melissa did the training with a few plus 30km walk in her training which meant she would be able to complete the walk.

It did become tough around the 40km mark which she did expect but she kept trying to stretch, stride and change position slightly as she had practiced this in training and she found if you walked the same way for too long her legs would start to cease up sooner.

Melissa said the event was really well organised and well marked out and lots of snacks at the stops which is always great to hear 71 thousand steps later!!!

Time to rest up now and I wonder what is Melissa’s next goal….

Huge congratulations to Shara Ferguson who completed yesterday’s Noosa marathon in a fantastic time of 4hrs and 13mins and 14th in her age group.
This was her first ever marathon and she has learnt so much during the training block and on race day and I can see her even improving more in her next marathon which she is already talking about when her next marathon is!!
This result is even more amazing considering Shara got hit by a car on her scooter about 5 weeks ago but with her very high determination this wasn’t going to stop her from finishing yesterday’s race.
She stuck to our race plan with her pace and that’s why she enjoyed it so much and came away with a great result.
I can’t wait to hear which race she picks next as I know she will smash her next race

Huge congratulations to Taylor Kenward who came 2nd in her age group im this morning’s Morton Bay which was 900m swim, 30km ride & a 7.5km run.
The best part of today’s result was Taylor felt a lot stronger than last year and recovered a 4 minutes PB on the bike and a 3 minute PB in the run.
Taylor was second out of the water and ended up 1 placing better than last year.
I love seeing the athletes I coach get amazing results when they put in the hard work with their training like Taylor does week in week out.

Huge congratulations to Alex who did this mornings Geelong Half Marathon in a great time of 1hr & 50min. This time was just off his half marathon PB but that wasn’t the goal today.
It was all about holding up an endurance base again and ticking off this run and the most important thing was pulling up injury free.
This was a stepping stone race so he can reach his real 2026 goal of doing this year’s and first ever Geelong Marathon.

Huge congratulations to Taylor who came 2nd in her age at the Raby Bay triathlon in VERY HUMID conditions.
Taylor was flying in the 800m swim doing it in 9minutes then held a great pace on the 25km bike leg doing it in 51 minutes but the heat hit her and everyone else hard on the 6km run leg which she did in 31 minutes.
Overall Taylor should be proud of her fantastic result considering the tough conditions and now she is weighing up what distance to do the Mooloolaba triathlon Olympic or sprint distance which im sure she will do well in either.

Huge congratulations to Taylor Kenward who took out first place in today’s Robina triathlon which was a 750m swim, 24km ride and 5km.
Taylor has been doing so well with her weekly online training which has lead to some awesome results like today which as a coach is great to see.
I can’t wait to get Taylor ready to smash her next event in the QLD triathlon series as I know there are more awesome results to come.

Huge congratulations to Aaron Borg who did his first ever today in a great time of 2hrs & 48mins. It was a lumpy 1.5km swim which he still got it done in a good time then took off on the 40km bike course which he sat on a good speed of around 30km/hr then brought it home with a very strong 10km run im very HOT conditions and should be very happy with his result.
Aaron has had a BIG year triathlon wise this year which started with the Mooloolaba Olympic distance triathlon, then his first ever 70.3 race at Mooloolaba and finished the year with today’s Noosa triathlon.
It’s now time for a little break from training and to spend some quality time with his family on the Japan snowfields

Huge congratulations to Taylor Kenward who did this morning’s Noosa Triathlon Run, Swim, Run race and was the 2nd placed adult female.
The race starts with a 1.5km beach sand run into a 750m swim and finished off with another 1.5km beach sand run. Taylor had a great race setting a good pace in the run and hitting the in 3rd place but coming out of the water in 1st place and then one of the females girls overtook her on the last run leg.
This is even more of a fantastic effort considering she was sick last week and could hardly breath when she did a swim session last Monday!!
Taylor is a very motivated person with her training who likes to have goals and things to train for and has her next goal sorted of the Robina triathlon in less than a month.

Huge congratulations to Shaun Sutton who gave everything he had to finish today’s Sunshine Coast Half Ironman event which is a 1.9km swim, 90km ride & 21km run in a time of 6hrs and 49mins.
Unfortunately Shaun’s work commitments, total house renovations and family life meant he couldn’t train as much as he needed to but he still wanted to do today’s triathlon.
With all these above things going on we had a chat about pacing himself and not going to fast and pace himself to make sure he finishes the race.
What is even more amazing about Shaun finishing today’s race was the last 2 nights he only got 3hrs sleep per night and even considered pulling the pin on the race.
He said he was glad he didn't though he got leg cramps in the swim and he took time to warm up in the bike leg to get his legs working again.
He said the run was the worst he has ever felt but to his credit he still got the job done.
Wear your medal proudly and have a break from online training now and get a great sleep tonight
