Lets go Jivananda!!!

Jivananda had a tough fight last night and the fight started strong with Jivananda out-striking Hayden and forcing him to take the fight to the ground multiple times. Yet Jivananda did an amazing job at returning back to his feet and continued to deliver damage in the stand up game. A-lot of adrenaline and being his first fight some errors were made and lessons learned but he still managed to not get submitted and went the total distance losing on points.

I am so proud to have been abled to coach and support this young man on his journey. Jivananda did amazing last night! It was incredibly powerful to see him in his element so calm and confident. Im looking forward to seeing where he goes with it all.

Thank-you for all your hard-work and commitment showing up for yourself each day you should be so proud of yourself Jivananda, your a true devotee to your faith and yourself brother. Jai Krishna 🫶🏻💪🏼❤️‍🔥

Wild Dog MMA Closure Announcement

Dear Wild Dog MMA Community,

It is with heavy hearts that Toby and Amber announce Wild Dog MMA will close on Friday, September 5, 2025.

We’re deeply grateful for your support and the vibrant community we’ve built at the gym.

Join us for closing drinks at Nimbin Hotel on Friday, September 5, after the final class to celebrate our journey.

The last Kids’ BJJ class will be on Thursday, September 4, filled with fun games.

Toby will coach at the Byron Bay BJJ Spring Tournament on Sunday, September 7 for the Wild Dogs final competition.

I’m Toby Carroll, head coach of Wild Dog MMA, and with a steady heart, I share some news. After a rich journey since January 2024, we’re closing our doors. This gym, born from a bold dream to bring MMA to our small town, has been as wild and rewarding as Nimbin itself. Your strength, spirit, and bonds have meant everything to us.
🎯 What’s Next?
We’re at a crossroads: pack down or pass the torch.
    •    All our equipment—tatami mats, subflooring, welded bag stands, 4 punching bags, gloves, kick pads, mitts and reception—is for sale as is for $35,000.
    •    The 144m² lease at Nimbin Hub and Storage is open to take over as is—perfect for a boxing gym, yoga studio, or new venture. Contact Nimbin Hub and Storage if interested!
We’ll see if a buyer steps up. If not, we’ll pack down with dignity. Perhaps someone else could run this far better—maybe you’re looking for this adventure and want to move to Nimbin?

Well done to Jake for his big win on the weekend! Not just that, but Nimbin’s first ever MMA fight. Thank you to all who helped him prepare and to those who also came to support him—Nimbin, we love you guys; you know who you are.

A big shout-out to Michaela Griffiths from Rise Rehabilitation for being so invested in seeing to Jake’s injuries leading up to this night.

Some men turn to men’s circles, others to therapists—but then there are men like this, who choose the warrior’s path. Jake showed up to training every single day, regardless of what was happening behind the scenes. Whether he was injured, grieving, or facing personal struggles, he had every reason to back out—but he never did. He kept showing up for himself, and that takes real strength.

You, sir, have certainly inspired me and I’m sure many others. But most of all, you have made Nimbin and our little gym so proud!
