NOTICE TO MEMBERS ‼️💚

The Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 26 September 2026 at 10 am, at the Club, 25 Sibley Street, Nimbin NSW 2480.

Nominations for office are now OPEN. The last day for receiving nominations for office shall be 5:00 pm 12 September 2026.

If more than the required nominations are received, voting will be by secret ballot, details and dates to be provided for voting.

Note **All business and notices of motions to be dealt with at the Annual General Meeting shall be in writing and provide in person at least TWENTY EIGHT (28) days prior to the date of the AGM.

Note **if you want to nominate for office there are specific requirements, including, must be a full member for an exc position or social member for general director position, must be supported by two full members, must have a directors ID

Formal Notice of the AGM, by way of post or email will be issued to current financial members. Please ensure your email and postal address are correct.

‼️ REMINDER: MEMBERS MEETING THIS SATURDAY ‼️

Members are reminded that the Members Meeting of the Nimbin Bowling Sport and Recreation Club will be held this Saturday, 8 August 2026 at 10:00 am at the Club.

The purpose of the meeting is to consider and vote on the proposed new Constitution for the Club.

All eligible members are encouraged to attend and have their say in the future direction and governance of our Club.

A copy of the proposed Constitution is available via email request.

We look forward to seeing members there.

Ordinary Members Meeting – Outcome Update

Thank you to all members who attended yesterday’s Ordinary Members Meeting.

In the interests of transparency, the Board wishes to provide members with a summary of the meeting and the outcome of the resolution considered.

The meeting consisted of two agenda items only:
• Apologies
• The adoption of the draft, which had been made available for members to review at the club and by email on request prior to the meeting.

During discussion and the Q&A, a motion was moved from the floor to adopt the draft Constitution and was seconded from the floor. In accordance with the meeting process, a secret ballot was then conducted, with members voting either “Yes” or “No”.

Following the ballot count, which was conducted twice to confirm accuracy, the results were as followed:
• 52 members voted in favour of adopting the draft Constitution
• 20 members voted against adopting the draft Constitution

This represented a 73% vote in favour of the resolution. However, under current rules, a special resolution requires a 75% majority to pass. As this threshold was not met, the motion was unsuccessful and the current Articles of Association remain.

While the resolution was not carried, the result reflects strong support from members for the proposed constitution, with the motion falling short by just two votes.

The Board will now consider the outcome of the meeting, review any feedback received from members, and determine the most appropriate next steps in relation to the draft Constitution.

Members are invited to provide any comments or feedback to the club’s email address [email protected] for consideration as part of the future review and amendment process.

The Board thanks all members who attended, engaged respectfully in the process, and exercised their right to vote.
