Thanks to everyone for entering the inaugural Marrakai Chase Gravel Ride at Lake Bennett!
We’re pumped to get everyone out having fun on bikes and raising awareness for RUOK.
🚨Recommended minimum age is 15 – you need to be able to ride 40km along rough roads in hot humid weather.
🚨It is the build-up and hot (up to 37 deg C later in the day) and humid (expect 80% humidity).
🚗 PARKING & ACCESS
❗ Do NOT park at Lake Bennett / De Lago Resort Parking is 10km along Chinner Road in the bungalow/shack area.
🦘Drive carefully — wallabies are common along Chinner Road.

0615 — Registration opens
0630 — Marshall briefing
0645 — Ride brief
0700 — Ride start
0730 — Course sweep departs
0800 — First intermediate cutoff
0900 — Second intermediate cutoff
1000 — Final cutoff / sweep concludes
🗺️ COURSE OVERVIEW (40km)
A mix of rough rural roads, unpaved sections, corrugations, soft ground, a small creek crossing, and some rougher terrain.
Gravel or MTB recommended — road bikes not recommended.
Tyres 40mm+ ideal.

• Owen Lagoon Rd
• Otto Creek Rd
• Marrakai Rd
• Old Stuart Hwy / service track
• Chinner Rd → finish

🚴♀️ RIDE FORMAT
Staggered start in bunches of max 30.
Self‑seeded — faster riders at the front.
Bunch leaders will support each group.
Course sweeper will tail the field.
This is not a race.
Please register, grab your timing plate, and cross the finish so we know you’re home safe.
