๐นVale Ray Bridger - BPCC Life Member ๐น
The committee and members of the Buckley Park Cricket Club are saddened to learn of the passing of Ray Bridger, a former player and Life Member of our club.
Ray was a highly regarded and longโserving member of Buckley Park Cricket Club, contributing extensively both on and off the field over many years. His service was formally recognised through Life Membership, and he held a number of important roles within the club, including:
- Club President (1994/95)
- Vice President (2005/06)
- Treasurer (2001/02 & 2002/03)
- General Committee Member across multiple seasons (1984/85, 1989/90, 1991/92, 1993/94, 2004/05)
- Junior Wicketkeeping Coach (2003/04 โ 2005/06)
- Barrie Clissold Best Club Person Award winner (1987/88)
On the field, Ray represented Buckley Park Cricket Club in 214 matches across all grades. His career statistics include:
- 3,382 runs from 195 innings, with a highest score of 113
- 34 wickets, including best bowling figures of 3/4
- 139 dismissals (119 catches and 20 stumpings), ranking him 6th allโtime on the clubโs catches and stumpings list
- 17th allโtime for games played at BPCC
- 3rd XI Fielding Award winner in 2001/02 and 2004/05
Rayโs involvement in playing, administration, and junior development reflected a strong commitment to Buckley Park Cricket Club and contributed meaningfully to the club over an extended period.
Ray is survived by his wife Lynne, his daughters Kristen and Heidi, and his son Trent. The club extends its sincere condolences to Rayโs family, friends, and all those who knew him through Buckley Park Cricket Club.
