OPENING DAY AND SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING.
Opening day will be held on Sunday 20th September and will incorporate a Special General Meeting.
The day will follow the same format that has been used in recent years, beginning at noon with a BBQ lunch provided by the club, and followed by the opening ceremony. Members will also be asked to vote on the adoption of a new Constitution, Regulations and Weather Policy at a special general meeting to be held at 1:00 p.m. It is expected that this meeting will take only a few minutes.
All bowlers and intending bowlers are encouraged to be in attendance.

DUST OFF THOSE BOWLS!
The new season is almost upon us, it is time to get back on the greens and blow away the cobwebs.
The match committee's are encouraging you to start practicing for the new season and will be contacting you regarding pennant selection. Preliminary team selections for round one will be up sometime around opening day.
There will be plenty of opportunities to play before the season starts and Friday night practice is on again

The Nhill versus Warracknabeal annual winter challenge was wrapped up last weekend with Warracknabeal traveling to Nhill to plat the second round.
Warracknabeal were too good for us this year and after holding the trophy for the last few years we reluctantly handed it back.
The best performed team for Nhill was Merv Schneider, Fox Jones and Barry Cramer.

The committee and members of the Nhill Bowling Club are grateful to the Hindmarsh Shire Council for their contribution and cooperation in the submission of this grant application.

|| FUNDING APPLICATION FOR NHILL BOWLING CLUB AMENITIES UPGRADE ||

Council and the Nhill Bowling Club have submitted a funding application under the Victorian Government’s Local Sports Infrastructure Fund (LSIF) to upgrade facilities at the Nhill Bowling Club.

The proposed works include the upgrade of two bowling greens, construction of a new all abilities access ramp to the greens, improvements to the irrigation system and associated services, and upgrades to the male and female amenities to provide all-abilities accessible facilities.

This project has been driven by the Nhill Bowling Club who approached Council in 2025 with a proposal to seek funding for the upgrade of facilities at the Club’s venue in Davis Ave, Nhill. The Club has been accruing funds for much needed upgrades over the past several years.

The proposed project has an estimated total value of $826,691, comprising a funding request of $500,000 from LSIF and a cash contribution of $326,691 from the Nhill Bowling Club.
Council will support the project through the provision of in-kind project management and grant administration services.

If the application is successful, Council will work with the Nhill Bowling Club managing the project.

Council would like to acknowledge all the hard work that the Nhill Bowling Club have undertaken to raise funds for this project, it’s a great example of a passionate group of people coming together to improve an asset that benefits Nhill and the greater surrounding community.

Sparra Lynch and David Gray are bringing a team of hotshot bowlers from the Irymple Bowls Club to play a "friendly" pennant practice match at the Nhill Bowling Club on Saturday August 8th.
If you are keen for a game that day, place your name on the team sheet in the clubhouse. It is filling fast!

The Nhill Bowling Club is grateful to the Horsham Sports & Community Club for their generous support in the recent distribution of sponsorships to Wimmera organizations.
We have received $900 to assist in the purchase of a new pie warmer for our kitchen. Our ladies and caterers who use our facility will appreciate this new appliance which replaces the 50+ year old warmer that has been delivering burnt offerings in recent times.
The warmer has been purchased and is in place in the kitchen ready for use.

Bowlers are advised that both greens at the Nhill Bowling Club are closed until Saturday.
Our surrounds and maintenance crew have been busy spraying a moss and algae outbreak on the greens.
Please avoid the playing surfaces and surrounds until the weekend!

Nhill bowlers featured among the winners at the Goroke Bowling Club Winter tournament last Sunday afternoon.
The Goroke club were the perfect hosts as per usual and, along with some warm winter sunshine, all in attendance had an enjoyable day.
