What a brilliant start to the Nhill Lake working bee today! 🌿

Our very first attendee is none other than local legend Merv Schneider - 100 years young and still leading by example. An incredible reminder of the community spirit that makes this place so special.

Looks like the Easter Bunny won’t be the only one getting things done this weekend… 🐰🌿

A great crew made a solid start on the Nhill Lake walking track last week, but there’s still a little left.

So we’re back for round two this Easter Saturday.

Drop in for as long or as short as you like — every rake helps. We’d love to see you there to help us finish the job!

A big thank you to everyone who came along to the working bee this morning. We had a fantastic turnout of more than 20 people, and thanks to your hard work and effort, we were able to rake over half of the walking track.

Your time, energy and community spirit are greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you all again at the next working bee! 👏🌿

With fuel prices being what they are, big trips might not be on the cards right now so why not spend a couple of hours close to home doing something meaningful for the community? 🚗💸

🌿 Nhill Lake Working Bee – This Saturday! 🌿

Join us for a community working bee at Nhill Lake this Saturday, 28th March from 9am to 11am.

We’ll be giving the area a tidy-up by raking leaves off the walking track and clearing around the BBQ areas as we work to beautify the lake surrounds.

We’re also excited for you to see the new shelters, proudly funded by the Horsham Sports & Community Club, now erected - let’s help make the area around them look its best!

🛠 What to bring: Garden rakes or lawn rakes
📍 Meeting point: Boat ramp
⏱️ Saturday 28th March, 9am.

It’s a great way to lend a hand, meet others, and help keep our beautiful lake looking its best. All help is welcome - we hope to see you there!

We hope everyone had a lovely Christmas 🎄

Here are some photos from today’s walk around the lake - sunshine ☀️ bird life 🦢 and locals wetting a line. 🎣

I even spotted Dale, Chairperson of the Nhill Lake Committee. Dale generously gives countless hours of his time to care for, and improve the Lake. From regular maintenance and beautification to building the new shade structures, his commitment is remarkable - even a public holiday doesn’t slow him down.

A beautiful day at the lake ☀️
Visitors stopped in to enjoy lunch under the Horsham Sports & Community Club funded shelters, while locals made the most of the water with boating, kayaking, and swimming. We love seeing people enjoying this shared community space. 🛶 🌿🦜

As a small volunteer-run organisation, this contribution has a real and lasting impact on the care of our lake and its surrounds. Major Community Projects 2025!

The Nhill Lake Committee of Management were granted $10,000 to construct and install shelter structures over some memorial bench seats around the Nhill Lake — providing much needed comfort and protection for visitors enjoying the area. ‍🚤🎣

☀️ A Perfect Day for SUP at Nhill Lake!

We welcomed Surfing Victoria to the lake earlier this week for the first of two Stand Up Paddle Boarding sessions as part of the Horsham and Nhill Multicultural Community SUP Programs.

With a fantastic turnout, plenty of smiles, and perfect weather, it was an awesome day on the water! 🏄‍♂️💦

🌟 Thank You to the Horsham Sports and Community Club 🌟

We are incredibly grateful to the Horsham Sports & Community Club for their generous $10,000.00 sponsorship as part of their Major Community Project funding.

This contribution will enable us to purchase materials, construct and begin installing shelter structures over some memorial bench seats around the lake — providing much-needed comfort and protection for visitors enjoying the area. ☀️ 🌳💦🏃‍♂️🎣🚤

This support from HSCC allows us to continue improving the facilities at the Lake for everyone to enjoy. 💙
