Date: Saturday 20th of June
Location: City Oval, Horsham

This weekend we travel to City Oval to take on the Horsham Demons for another exciting day of Wimmera League football and netball.

We wish all players, officials, members and supporters a great day and look forward to a competitive and enjoyable day of football and netball.

Wimmera hockey heads to the turf at Dimboola for round 7, due to a venue change! Please also note updated times! Nhill will play against Dimboola teams. Rangers have the bye.

|| BLUE RIBBON AWARDS ||

On Saturday, two of our up and coming superstar juniors were awarded with the Victorian Police Blue Ribbon Award.

This award showcases players who show outstanding skill, fair play and sportsmanship of the game whilst they are playing in the Under 17 competition.

Douglas was the recipient of the football award. Douglas is still eligible to play Under 14’s and often puts his hand up to fill in and assist in the Under 17’s. His passion for the game is evident as he lives and breathes football. It is not often you will drive past Davis Park and not see Dougie out on the track, refining and improving his skills.

Eden was the recipient of the netball award. Eden again, exudes passion and commitment to the game of netball, showing immense spirit. She gives her all every time she hits the court and is a strong and crafty defender, having an excellent read of the play.

Congratulations to both Dougie and Eden on this tremendous achievement 🥳💙💛

And a big thank you to our local police for coming along to present these awards on Saturday. 💙

|| TIGER CUBS DAY ||

This Sunday, 21st of June is our annual Tiger Cubs Day 🐯

The day will run from 10am - 12pm with a BBQ to follow.

We invite all our junior players across all 4 sports to come along for a fun morning of activities. These will be ran by our senior netball and football players.

If you have pre-school children, please feel free to bring them along for some smaller activities as well.

We hope to see as many of our young tigers there as possible! 🐯🐯

A massive congratulations to Liv and Zara who represented the Wimmera League in Echuca on Sunday.

Liv’s Under 13’s team were semi finalists for the day. While Zara’s Under 17’s team finished Runners Up and are off to the State Association Championships in Melbourne!

|| MILESTONE GAME ||

Kat Shiells – 100 club games
This weekend, Kat will play her 100th club game for the Nhill & District Sporting Club. Kat made her debut for the club in 2017. Since then, she has been an integral part of the C Grade and C Reserve teams.

Kat has been a consistent defender, applying pressure through the goal circle or on the circle edge. She is easily described as versatile with her ability to run through the mid-court - but really, she is known to shine when given a sneaky 4th quarter stint in goals!

Kat is our quiet achiever off the court, always putting her name down for more than her fair share of duties. She is always happy to take on responsibility, including being a Team Manager for a number of years.

Kat is one of our netball volunteers who is always happy to put her hand up to help out, which is why she is a much loved member of our community.

Congratulations on your 100th club game, Kat – we wish you all the best for many more to come.

Brodie Cramer - 100 Club Games

The Cramer Time plays his 100th club game this weekend!

Brodie played all his juniors as a Tiger and made his senior debut in 2014 under coach Shane Grover.

Cramer contributed to a rich year for debutants, including Lucas Dahlenburg, Darcy Honeyman, Jake McQueen and Frazer Driscoll.

Cramer was still a regular in the seniors as recently as 2022, and while injuries and some time away from the club have interrupted his career, he’s now become a consistent presence in our Twos team.

A gun forward who is hard for the opposition to stop, he has a booming left foot kick that is still within range well outside the 50. And while he’s most comfortable kicking goals, he’s more than willing to present up the ground and crash through a few packs to take a strong contested mark.

We wish Brodie all the best for his 100th game and expect he’s still got plenty more to go!
