Great stuff from Shane Wilson who recorded a 2min Geelong Half Marathon PB with a time of 1:38:40.

The most amazing thing about this run was Shane and his family had a very tough week with their passing of the family dog and wasn’t sure he was in the head space to run today.

I said it’s totally up to you and I put no pressure on his decision to run or not as his major goal is to do his first ever marathon at the Melbourne marathon festival in October.

He decided he would just see how he felt in the morning, which he felt okay so decided to do it as fun and not race which I said is totally fine. As he was running this morning he started doing some maths around the halfway mark as he felt good and thought he would put in a surge of effort and held up okay and was able to keep pushing and pump out a negative spilt which is amazing and well deserved with all of his training he has been putting in.

Awesome effort from Virginia Thomson who today came 2nd in her age group in the Werribee Mansion 10km fun run in a great time of 55mins & 52sec.

Virginia decided to follow an online running program from myself since we left to live in QLD and it has paid off BIG time with helping Ginny get her running speed back which she thought was gone.

Virginia is a pleasure to coach as she always give her all. She is running less kms since following this plan than she has over the last few years as it’s all about quality not quantity.

I can’t wait to see how she goes in July when she takes on the 10km event at Run Melbourne.

Huge congratulations to Andrew Merriman who did today’s Geelong Half marathon in a fantastic time of 1:39:05. This result is so incredible because he had only been following a plan from myself over the last 7 weeks.

His race goal was to run under 5min kms which he smashed as he finished the half marathon with an average pace of 4:42min/km. Andrew now sets his sights on increasing his speed for the Halls Gap 12km run.

Huge congratulations to Cam and his team mates who were the 1st place all male team in today’s Melbourne 70.3 Half Ironman triathlon. This is their 2nd first placing in 5 week after backing up the Geelong 70.3 win.

Cam had a great run in humid conditions and smashed out a 1:29:58 for the 21km run which was faster than his run in geelong 5 weeks ago.

Now that Cam has his endurance base back he is going to turn his attention to more speed with his online running program from myself.

It’s just great to see Cam back up and going and confident that he can have a real crack running wise. I can’t wait to see more awesome results from Cam over the next few months.

Awesome stuff from Chris Reed who came 3rd in this morning’s 10km River Run in a great time of 49.01.

Chris has been following a weekly running program by myself for a while now and it seems that he is back to his peak with his last two races resulting in podium finishes.

The best part of all of this is Chris is no longer getting crappy little injuries that are stopping him from reaching his fitness goals. Rehabilitation, listening to his body and not over training has been the key for Chris in not breaking down and getting injured again which is why I believe a weekly adjustable tuning plan is the only way it should be done.

He is rapt to be running under 50mins for 10kms today and I can’t wait to hear what is next for Chris event wise.

Huge congratulations to Virginia Thomson who came 2nd in her age group at today’s 10km River Run in a great time of 55:20.

Virginia decided when we moved to QLD she wanted to change up her training by following a weekly running planned by me and it has paid off big time today.

I have cut back the duration of Virginia’s training and add more speed and intensity which has allowed her to run quicker today. She has noticed lately that it is getting easier to hold a higher heart rate when training which is a great sign she is getting fitter.

It is a pleasure to coach someone like Virginia and I can’t wait to see what is her next fitness challenge and help her achieve it.

Congratulations to Justin Music who did this mornings Barwon Heads triathlon in a great time of 50mins 32sec and 11th in his age group.

This was even more of a fantastic effort with Justin doing hardly any running during the plan as he had a calf issue so we concentrated more on his swimming and bike.

I can’t wait to see what is next for Justin and we will get him to his running best for his next event.

Congratulations to Jacinta Brown who did this mornings Barwon Heads triathlon in a time of 1hr & 11mins and coming 48th out of 67 people in her age group.

I had to remind Jacinta how amazing a job she is doing with her triathlons as this is her 5th race this season and she is getting more confident in pushing herself and less anxieties before and during the race.

To me this is more important than her result or time and something she should be proud of and I love seeing her continuing improvement.
