Newstead Tennis & Squash Centre We are a family-friendly community club that offers sporting facilities and competitions for tennis & squash players at all levels.

We are a family-friendly community club that offers sporting facilities and competitions for tennis and squash players at all levels, as well as an excellent social environment. The Facility features:
- 4x Tennis Courts
- 2x Squash Courts

In addition to its tennis and squash courts, Newstead Tennis and Squash Centre has a club room, incorporating a licensed bar. The club’s bar operates under a 'Club' Liquor License. Bar hours: 4pm onwards, Monday – Saturday

Our first table tennis casual games start tonight!

Monday:
A doubles: NTSC HERFs v Trevallyn Hookway @ Tennis World
A2 Teams: Du Cane Rangers vs Riverside Strokes @ NTSC
B2 Teams (SF): NTSC Goats vs NTSC Tripple P @ NTSC (winner to play Thursday).

Tuesday:

Tennis pennant finals!

Well done to all the Newstead teams who made the first week of finals which kick off tomorrow.

There are Newstead teams in finals each night of the week. No home finals on Monday but there are for Tuesday - Thursday if you want to come down and support Newstead!

Vale Bruce John.

Bruce John (B.J) was a member of Hart Street/NTSC for well over 60 years and a life member for many of those.

He was actively involved in most club activities and always there to help and open the club house when needed. He did voluntary bar work, looked after the punters clubs and ran the footy tipping for 50+ years - there were no computers in those days - it was all done manually.

He would sit at the same position at the bar every night he came in and has the ability to put a smile on everyone’s face even if you were having a bad day. He had a laugh that could lift the roof and would always buy the last beer before he left each evening.

BJ was also an accomplished cricketer, playing for Launceston Cricket Club and also representing Tasmania against touring sides like the West Indies, England and New Zealand. He was an opening batsman.

After the passing of his wife and best mate, Marlene, a few years back, life become a little tougher and his health declined, finally passing away at Sandhill nursing home on April 14, with family by his side.

Rest easy BJ and thanks for the memories.

One of the biggest Joint Open Tournaments in Australia is on it's way to the Devonport Squash Courts, July 15th - 19th July. The City of Devonport Tasmanian Open.

This popular tournament will attract WORLD CLASS PLAYERS from overseas, showcasing their Squash Skills.
