ou can find more information on our FAQ page as well. Manifesto: We specialise in teaching the vintage swing dances of the 1920s, 30s and 40s. We believe in creating an environment where people can be themselves and connect with others around the shared love of swing music, culture, and dance. We believe that people have the right to be able to fully participate and feel safe without judgment. Help us build an amazing and creative community full of life, happiness, and most importantly incredible dancing. Our teachers: Our teachers are a collective of swing dance enthusiasts who are passionate about the dance and sharing the joy of this dance with others. Our classes are suitable for persons of any age and skill level. Our Classes: All our classes are delivered in a drop-in style, which means that anyone can commence classes with us on any week and it's not a big problem if you do shift work and can't come regularly. No partner or previous experience is required for our beginner classes. Our regular classes are 1 hour long. Corner Pocket Swing Ownership:

Jig Walks with Susie and Alana
Susie and Alana are teaming up to bring you Jig Walks. This simple step offers endless possibilities for variation, styling and play, making it a perfect starting point for your swing dance journey or a versatile addition to your dance toolkit.

We’ll focus on dancing jig walks with a partner, exploring how to connect and groove with the step together. We’ll rotate partners throughout the class, so just bring yourself and your dancing shoes.

Let’s talk parking at our new studio! We’ve had a few (a lot) of you asking where to find parking around our new home, so we’re pleased to present this handy dandy guide of Susie’s favourite
parking spots.

You’re going to want to check out Warry Street and Water Street for street parking. They’re both just a short walk from the studio, and they come recommended by Susie!

We’re also only a short walk from the station, and there are plenty of bus stops nearby.

Corner Pocket Swing is heading to the Marburg Meander! As part of the Ipswich Galvanised Festival, this 1940’s themed event will be a celebration of community, camaraderie, and heritage.

This free event will feature live music, story telling, some delicious food, historic venues, and a dance class run by yours truly!

TLDR: Tuesday Lindy Hop at the Danish Club on 1st Sep.

The most important part of a dance studio is the dance floor, and we don't want to open our studio before it is just right for you! We are busy installing a nice, shock-absorbing floor that will be gentle on our joints and smooth under foot.

Unfortunately we've had a little delay on that special floor, so we're back at the Danish Club for (hopefully) just one more class before moving to the new studio, but we really think the wait is worth it!

Tuesday 1st September, see us at the Danish Club.
