Macalister Trophy Bowhunters Archery Club Macalister Trophy Bowhunters is a family friendly bow hunting archery club. We shoot every Wednesday night from 6pm - 9pm

We have an indoor 20 yard range, 2 massive 20 target outdoor ranges and practice butts from 10 yards right out to 80 yards.

AJ has been apart of the club since June 2013. Was promoted to secretary/treasurer in 2015
Promoted to club president in 2020 and has held the reins since!

How did you get involved with archery and what made you stick with it?

I joined as an activity to do with my son, Tyson. From the very first night I attended, I knew it was for me. Since that first visit, I’ve attended 624 Wednesday night shoots!

What has been your favourite moment with archery?

There have been so many, but probably the hunting trips.

What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

I have a stainless steel rod in my leg from a motorbike accident.

What’s your best piece of advice for new archers?

Shoot your bow using good form and make sure your equipment is set up correctly.

🏹Here’s a post to boost you through your Monday 🏹

We are a big advocate for hunting, hence our name “bow hunters” hunting is a very respectable sport. You must have respect for the animal and for yourself, we are very passionate on hunting, it is our goal to make sure that when you are hunting you utilize your kill. Either collect the meat or skin/trophy. Not to kill and leave the animal behind. As we try to be sustainable as possible in hunting.

One of our member has been out hunting rabbits. As you can see here, he has utilized his rabbits claim and used the skin in his bow case! How cool is this! Great work and great thinking! 💪🏼🔥🏹
