The Newport Rams have been awarded $90,000 in this years State Budget for new digital scoreboards, to be installed on both main fields. Melissa Horne, State MP for Williamstown was at KC White Reserve this morning to present the cheque to club President Paul Walshe, who was surrounded by several of our winter players and families.
Paul said: “we are very grateful to Melissa for her support and this morning we discussed her last visit to the Rams when she threw the first pitch to launch our women’s program a couple years ago. Melissa is a great supporter of community sport, and we look forward to welcoming her back to officially turn on the new scoreboards that will not only help spectators follow the games, but also provide a platform to promote our sponsors, local businesses, and community events.” Paul said: “we would also like to thank Dale Schuman and Dale Ipsen for their tireless efforts behind the scenes to manage our sponsors and grants program, to enable all this to be possible, thanks Dales.”
The Rams will now work with Hobsons Bay City Council and contractors to get new scoreboards installed, hopefully by the commencement of the summer season.
