We offer the opportunity of a long term Career in the industry (not a rental role)

-Are willing to constantly learn more, invest in education and be invested in.
-Desire to become an industry leader and the best of the best.

RUNNING A BUSINESS IS SOME OF THE BEST PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT YOU WILL EVER EXPERIENCE!
by Coach Tim Diegan

This week marks 7 years since we opened our studio's doors

To look back on the person I was 7 years ago, I literally feel like I've gained 15 years of life experience in half the time.

I've been a business owner since I registered my business in my early 20's and started my PT career.

The long term dream was always to have my own studio, and I achieved that after 10 years of working my ass off, 50 hour weeks of on the floor PT sessions (back when good work ethic was respected and a false sense of entitlement wasn't a thing), weekend seminars, interstate conventions, hiring private mentors for program design / training & nutrition and business mentors - every spare dollar I had was reinvested into my knowledge or the business.

I learned that paying rent to gyms as an IBO (individual business owner) whilst is great to cut your teeth in the business world, when your only fixed overhead is the fee you pay to the gym you are renting space from weekly, this is nothing compared to running a larger business out of a facility that you are leasing.

The extra overheads, the stress of it being your own, the staff depending on you to fill their books up, my mind was constantly "on" thinking about the business, whether it was a good or bad day.

In my time in business:

-I've navigated through a recession & lockdowns.
-Been able to buy my first house
-Been able to fund overseas holidays and car purchases
-Learned that cashflow is the oxygen that your business breathes.
-Learned that turnover feeds the ego but profit feeds the family
-Met so many new people from all walks of life and found as my success was greater, my circle was smaller
-Learned to be great at recruitment ( I go by the motto hire hard, fire easy)
-Hired my first ever personal assistant (priceless and I couldn't do what I do without her)
-Developed as a leader via experience and resilience
-Lost my health in the focus of steadying the ship of a business struggling through tough tides, which has helped me relate to the business owners that we consult for their health & transformation goals.

I've learned that the biggest bottleneck in the business, is the business owner, and that the healthier and happier I am, the better I can lead my team and provide a high level service for my VIP clients.

I've seen the contrast of being in the business scraping for every dollar to meet our weekly obligations, to being able to have time away both forced (medical) and unforced and not had to stress about money being in the bank.

I've been able to use profits to reinvest into the business and add more equipment, and more education into my team to create an even better member experience.

I've Grown from being THE Sole practitioner to being the business mind & head coach, hiring and building a team of great people that have an opportunity for constant growth in their career, both via our current career path tiers but also with the opportunity that comes with a business that seeks constant growth and improvement.

I've done a few personal development courses, read alot of books and listened to plenty of audio books, but truly, being a business owner is the greatest personal development you can have.

The HEAVY/LIGHT Method.

by .db

SUPERSET BASICS - A superset is a technique commonly used by body builders to help increase strength, muscle mass and shred some of that lingering body fat. Supersets have a pretty simple concept; perform 2 exercises back-to-back with minimal rest, then take a sufficient rest period after the second exercise in the pairing, then repeat the process. In a standard superset, both exercises would be completed with the same amount of reps. This is where the concept of a Heavy/Light superset differs.

With a Heavy/Light superset, the first exercise, typically a compound movement, is performed for relatively low reps, under a high load. The second exercise, either an accessory or isolation exercise targeting the same muscle group, is then performed with higher reps, under less load. For example, you would perform the compound exercise for 5-8 reps, then head straight over to the accessory exercise and complete 10-20 reps. This allows you to get the benefits of heavy-loading strength work AND higher rep “pump” work.

When looking at the fat-loss aspect of heavy/light supersets, the higher rep pump work contributes somewhat to extra calories being burned throughout the duration of the session. However, to truly maximise fat loss, you need to increase the amount of calories are being burnt at rest, outside of a workout. This is where the heavy-set work comes in handy. Utilising heavy strength training helps to increase something called excess post-exercise oxygen consumption, or EPOC. This phenomena allows for more oxygen to be consumed for muscle recovery at rest, which increases your resting metabolic rate, causing more calories to be burnt at rest! 😴🔥

A very successful day today at the IFBB Pro League Australia National Titles:

WE came, we saw, and we conquered.

4 years in the making, I always thought had Pro potential, today this was realised.

Eman is the model student, did everything he was told to a T, worked his ass off, still pushed through in times of adversity but even in the toughest of times, he never gave up.

In our first year with we didn’t know what to expect, but after winning everything at the vic titles, I thought he had a chance at Nationals.

As a coach, I put everything I could into achieving the best outcome possible and peaking like never before today, Emmanuel’s precision to following his plans was 100%.

This is a day i’ll never forget, ‘s first

Now to relax, enjoy a nice meal and look forward to a bright future.

A house has to be built on a solid foundation

As beginners, you will have it easier, you will gain strength and muscle by virtually doing anything you want. What is not easy at first, is that you will have to try your hand at specific exercises and techniques. You will also need to develop your coordination and above all, be constant for several weeks, even a few months before you can start truly developing your strength.

Here are some principles to remember (and not to forget as you gain experience) that will guide you through strength and hypertrophy workouts.

1. The time under tension (aka repetitions) dictate the weight

In strength training, 1 to 5 repetitions for the development of muscle strength which represents between 85 to 100% of your maximum weight for a repetition on the exercise in question. If we look at time under tension, it represents a set that lasts between 5 and 20 seconds of work (Ex: 5 reps at a tempo of 2020 = (5x4sec each reps) 20 seconds.

2. Sets are inversely related to repetitions

For strength training, less exercises and more sets to achieve the desired effect is optimal but not limited to.

3. Consider the complexity of the exercise.

The complexity of the exercise will dictate the priority in the training. The more complex the exercise, the more muscle mass it will recruit and the more it will tax your nervous system, the importance of placing it at the beginning of training when your nervous system is fresh and available.

.ramani
There is a common misconception in fitness where a certain food group has the ability to make you fat however unless you are eating huge quantities this is actually false

Foods like fruits, butters, oils, carbohydrates, choclate (in excess) actually doesn't make you fat however what does make you fat is eating in a calorie surplus for extended periods of time

No food group has the potential to make you fat however monitoring calorie intake via whatever method you choose is an easy way to gauge body composition to ensure you reach your fat loss results
