ALBURY 9S CARNIVAL

Shoutout to a handful of our U12 girls who travelled to Albury over the weekend and competed in the Women's Albury 9s Carnival!

Well done Mia, Leah, Agnes, Teddi, Nya, Layken and Minnie! It was great to see each of you carving up in your respective teams and having a run in a different rugby league format!

🏆 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR – NRL VICTORIA 🏆

Our very own President, Damien Tangata, has been nominated and awarded Volunteer of the Year at the annual NRL Victoria Awards Night👏🏽

This is such a huge achievement for Damien and an incredible moment of recognition for our small but growing club, the Geelong Sharks RLC 🩵🦈

Building a club from the ground up isn’t always easy. There are challenges, countless hours behind the scenes, and a lot of hard work that often goes unseen. But moments like this remind us that it’s all worth it!

Thank you, Damien, for your leadership, wisdom, knowledge and unwavering commitment to our club. Your dedication continues to help build something special for our players, families and community.

This award is not only a recognition of you, Damien, but also a proud moment for our entire Sharks family. We’re growing, we’re learning, and we’re building something bigger than footy🦈⚡️

Wow, what a day!
It was so good to see so many Sharkies out there today 🙌🏽 whether you were playing, coaching, volunteering or supporting from the sidelines. And to everyone who drove out to cheer the kids on, we see you! Thank you for showing up and supporting our young players.
A huge well done to all the kids who took the field today. Seeing you embrace your identity, culture and family and represent with so much pride was truly inspiring.
Like what Adam NRL Victoria said, today was about more than footy, it was about community, connection and making memories together. Thank you Rugby League Samoa Victoria for making this happen!

Well done, Sharkies! What a day to be proud of. 🦈

🦈 PACIFIC JUNIOR FESTIVAL | 2026 🌺

Tomorrow marks history as the first-ever Pacific Junior Festival takes place!

We’re incredibly proud to see our Geelong Sharks players taking part in this special event, representing their cultures, families and our club while creating memories and sharing their love of rugby league.

A huge thank you to Rugby League Samoa Victoria for creating this opportunity and bringing the Pacific community together through rugby league. We also acknowledge and thank the NRL Victoria for supporting the festival and helping create opportunities for our young players and the wider grassroots community.

And while we celebrate those taking the field tomorrow, we also want to recognise the people who are often working behind the scenes to make these opportunities possible.

If you didn’t know, our Club President has always been heavily involved in supporting grassroots rugby league and giving back to the community. This weekend is another example of that commitment, with involvement across multiple Pacific teams and age groups:

What an incredible season for our Geelong Sharks Juniors! It is such an honour as a club to provide a space where our kids can come together, build friendships, grow in confidence, support one another and, most importantly, enjoy the game of rugby. 🏉
