🏀 Huge congratulations to Meeka, Ellie & Pippa!

Today they were part of an outstanding team who took the WIN in the Hunter Region Independent Schools Year 5/6 Comp. Every player, coach and support staff member contributed to a brilliant day of basketball, and these three represented their families, their school, Blue Jays, and their wider community with pride, strength and determination.

6am training followed by 7 games…. and still planning to go to training tonight...for the love of basketball!

Congratulations who have always been such a critical part of our clubs success!

It was incredible seeing such a strong Blue Jays presence across both the boys and girls today — and across the 3/4 comp yesterday too. Our community shows up, and it shows.

💙Blue Jays Tsu-mummies💙

Last week the Mums Team played our very first game and honestly the crowd behind us deserved its own trophy.

Even the lowest division team needs a cheer squad like that — loud, loyal and laughing with us (never at us… mostly).

What surprised me most was how proud the kids were. Turns out when your mum laces up and gives it a go it hits different.

And we all walked away with a whole new level of respect for our junior players. We watch hours of training but putting it into practice under pressure is a completely different sport. We had so much fun last week and we’re back on court tonight.

Another reason I’m so proud of this community — the involvement, the commitment, the competition, the development, the reward.

It’s not just about the kids, it’s about connection, opportunity, growth and fun… and maybe a few bruises we won’t admit to.

💙 HOW GOOD ARE OUR STRIKERS! 🧡

There’s something special about watching a team come together — a bunch of random individuals who walk in as strangers and slowly turn into mates, teammates, and a little sporting family of their own.

Our Strikers are the perfect example of what makes grassroots sport beautiful:
a mix of brand‑new club members and long‑timers, kids from different schools, some already in high school and some heading that way… all united by a shared goal, a shared jersey, and a shared love of the game.

Week by week you can see the connections forming — the trust, the laughs, the encouragement, the “we’ve got this” moments. That’s the magic of community sport. That’s the magic of Blue Jays.

🐦🏀💙 HAPPY (BELATED) 1ST BIRTHDAY, BLUE JAYS! 🧡🐦🏀
We might’ve forgotten to celebrate it at the start of the year… but looking back at where we came from makes this milestone even sweeter.

Before we were the Blue Jays, we were BTAC — a humble little school‑based club from Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College with big hearts, tiny uniforms, and a whole lot of potential.

Swipe through the heritage photos… can you spot some of our current Blue Jays in their BTAC gear? The baby faces, the height (or lack of it), the early skills — it’s all there. If you’ve got your own BTAC throwbacks, drop them in the comments so we can all reminisce and appreciate just how far these kids have come.

A huge shout‑out to the people who built the foundation:
Rob Eddy, Joel Cruikshank, and Sara Jiear — the original crew who kept the wheels turning and the kids playing.

And to the team who carried the torch into our new era:
President Peter Rogers, Kelly Hair, Ebony Bill, Daniella Rogers, Tracey Jones, and our newest committee members who make up the heart of our Blue Jays family today.

From 97 players in 2024 to 172 players in 2025 — that’s 77% growth in just one year. The growth is big, the vibes are strong, and the community we’re building together is something special.

Here’s to our roots, our journey, and the incredible humans these players are growing into — on and off the court.
