Inspirational!!!!
One of our ITF brothers 80 years young grading for 5th degree in South Australia.
We would like to share a great story and to congratulate our senior black belt Sabum Dickmann for being promoted to and recognised as Taekwon-Do 5th Degree by Grand Master Daher this evening.
The grading was done at 5pm this evening at Dynamic Taekwon-Do Australia Dojang. Sabum Dickmann presented all colour belt patterns, and selected black belts pattern from 1st to 4th degree syllabus. Followed by 3 steps sparring, 2 step sparring and 1 step sparring, and self-defence. All are shown at high standards.
Sabum Dickmann is turning 80 years young only in a few months time, and he has always been the one who stays on the mats the longest in all training classes (3 hours) helping teaching and training. Sabum Dickmann always turn up at least 15 minutes before the class and have already done over 50 push ups, 50 squats and other warm routine and already done a few rounds of patterns before the training began. Sabum Dickmann has never missed any umpiring duties in all of our In Club Tournaments, as well as the 2023 National Championship since joining Dynamic Taekwon-Do Australia family in year 2021. More importantly, he is one of the longest Taekwon-Do practitioner in South Australia, Australia, Oceania, and in the world, he has been practicing Taekwon-Do for over 50 years (since 1970s) and has never stopped, and he is now training along with his grand daughter who is our blue belt junior class member as well as 2023 National Champion.
Whole life devote to Taekwon-Do is a reflection of Sabum Dickmann's discipline to the art and he is a great example to our Taekwon-Do family. We are grateful that Grand Master Daher has been helping South Australia ITF Taekwon-Do to develop, recognise and encourage the Taekwon-Do practitioners like Sabum Dickmann who has whole hearted devoted in the art to continue training to continue contribute his role to build up the new generation of Taekwon-Do family.
