Update
Krue had surgery late last night. All the specialist were on hand and decided on a good clean out and stitches only. Krue was released 11am this morning and is relaxing with his mum and having some time off the bike. This should be a speedy recovery fingers crossed. Thank you to The Clayton Monash children's and Dandenong children's they made all the right decisions and was a all round great experience. Thank you to everyone who helped in any way and the reach outs in support.
DAD UPDATE — because Krue is a little slow at updating people at the moment 😂
Hartwell Round 3 at Broadford started absolutely flying for Krue.
Across the 3 classes, he managed 6 x 1st, 1 x 3rd and 2 x DNF’s from crashes — and because apparently racing one class isn’t enough, Krue was racing three classes for the weekend. 🤦♂️😂
Things were looking bloody good heading into Sunday… until there were only 6 races left.
Krue had a pretty big highside and was launched into the air before coming down hard on the road. The impact tore his race leathers open and left his elbow with a rather impressive amount of missing flesh. 😬
Off to medical he went to get checked and hopefully cleared for the next race.
Now, Krue apparently didn't think there was much wrong.
I took one look at him, looked at the leathers, then looked at his elbow and said:
“Mate… I think you’re down to the bone.”
His response?
“Nah.” 😂
So we had another look… and yep. Turns out Dad was right. Unfortunately, it was considerably worse than we first thought.
In true Krue fashion, his first priority was NOT the injury — it was trying to convince everyone to patch him up so he could get back on the bike. 🤦♂️
He wasn't keen on pain medication, wasn't keen on sitting out and definitely wasn't keen on being told he couldn't race.
But eventually, common sense (and the medical team!) won.
Krue was ruled out of racing and won't be able to return until he receives medical clearance.
So, at the moment, Krue is in hospital waiting on surgery and a plan to get everything repaired and back where it belongs.
We don't have all the answers yet, but we'll keep everyone updated as we know more.
A massive THANK YOU to everyone who has checked in, helped us pack up, get Krue sorted and get him to hospital. Thanks to everyone who came down to support him over the weekend, and to all the people behind the scenes who make these weekends happen.
And to mum and dad 😁 who are now on rotation at the hospitals.
A huge thank you also to the Hartwell Motorcycle Club and the medical team for looking after Krue and everyone else out there racing.
It's pretty bloody impressive how quickly everyone jumps in when something goes wrong.
Now we just need to get this idiot repaired, back on his feet and eventually back on the bike. 😂❤️
