“You’re either a smart fella… or a fart smella.” 💨

“We all have the same 24 hours.”

Technically… yes.

But f@ck me, some people’s 24 hours look very different. 😂

Influencer morning routine “just want it more”:

Wake up at 5am.
Journal.
Meditate.
Morning sunlight.
Cold plunge.
Gym.
High-protein breakfast.

Parent morning routine:

“PUT YOUR BLOODY SHOES ON, WE’RE LATE.”

😂

Being busy isn’t an excuse to do nothing.

But pretending everyone has the same amount of usable time is fart smella stuff.

You don’t need a routine built for someone else’s life.

You need one that actually works in yours be a smart fella.

Same 24 hours.
Very different fu***ng schedules. 👊

After almost 20 years of coaching, I thought I’d seen every type of client.

Turns out I was wrong 😂

Recently I started training Mum — and it’s genuinely become one of the highlights of my week.

Watching her step outside her comfort zone, learn new things, work bloody hard and have a laugh while doing it has been pretty special.

Although apparently reducing the weight is NOT an option. Ever. 😂

Funny how the roles change.

She spent years encouraging me to try things, work hard and keep going.

Now I get to return the favour. ❤️👊

And maybe there’s a little reminder in there for all of us…

It’s never too late to be a beginner at something.

We’ve had this question more times than we can count…

“Can I do the 12 Week Challenge if I don’t live near The Gorilla Pit?”

Until now, the answer has pretty much been no.

That’s about to change. 👀

We’re taking everything we’ve learned from years of running our 12 Week Challenge — the training, nutrition, accountability, education and coaching philosophy — and bringing it online.

Same philosophy. Same structure. Same accountability.
No postcode required. 👊

More details coming very soon.

Coffee Inspired Thoughts ☕

Kids have an incredible ability to hear absolutely nothing you say…

Until you say something you really wish they hadn’t heard. 😂

And while we laugh about the swear words they somehow pick up from three rooms away, there’s probably some other stuff slipping through too.

How we talk about our bodies.

How we talk about food.

Whether exercise is something we get to do or something we have to do because we “ate badly.”

They’re not just learning from the conversations we have with them.

They’re learning from the conversations we have around them.

No need to be perfect. No need to censor every word.

Just something worth thinking about over your morning coffee…

☕ What are your kids hearing when you talk about yourself?

This one’s for the Rashy Dads

And before anyone comes at me… wear the bloody rashie. Sun safety is important.

But you know the dads I’m talking about.

The ones who aren’t wearing it because of the UV rating.

Im talking about the ones who don’t really want to take their shirt off anymore.

Maybe you’ve put on a few kilos.

Maybe you don’t feel as fit or strong as you used to.

Maybe life, work and kids have slowly pushed looking after yourself further and further down the list.

And honestly, most dads we work with aren’t chasing a six-pack.

They just want to feel good again.

To take their shirt off at the beach without thinking about it.

To jump in the pool with the kids.

To be in the photos instead of always being the one taking them.

To feel a little more like the old them again.

That’s the stuff that matters.

So keep the rashie for the sun.

But if you’re ready to lose the reason you’re scared to take it off, send us a DM.

Summer’s not that far away. 👊

Fitness advice isn’t always wrong.

But sometimes it’s given by people playing a very different game. 😂

When you’ve got kids, work, sport, school drop-offs, broken sleep and a calendar that looks like a game of Tetris… “just prioritise it” doesn’t quite cover it.

Parents don’t need an easier plan.

We need one built for the life we’re actually living.

Because you can train hard, eat well and get great results without pretending the rest of your life doesn’t exist. 👊

There are 2 types of effort in the gym…

Coach is watching effort 👀
And…
I think coach is busy effort. 🤣

Unfortunately, I see everything.

Going away for the weekend doesn’t mean your diet has to go to s**t.

This was a weekend away with the boys.

Bacon & eggs.
Prawns.
Teriyaki chicken & salad.
Steak & roast veg.
Balmain bugs.

Was it perfect? Nope.

There were beers. There were snacks. There was plenty of food.

But eating well doesn’t have to mean chicken, rice and Tupperware containers.

And going away doesn’t mean total abadonment of nutrition accountability.

Eat good food.
Enjoy yourself.
Have a few beers.
And keep the progress flowing.

A healthy lifestyle should fit into your life.

Not stop you from living it. 👊

The internet has done a pretty good job of making health feel harder than it needs to be.

Train more.
Eat perfectly.
Never miss.
Always be motivated.

Real life doesn’t work like that.

Especially when you’ve got kids, work, sport, school runs and everything else thrown in.

You don’t need to build your life around being fit.

You need to build a way of staying fit that works around your life.

Consistently good beats inconsistently perfect. Every time. 👊

I was only going to post this on my personal page but decided to share here.

You open a gym thinking you’re going to help people get fitter.

You don’t really think about the people you’re going to meet along the way.

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been given two gifts that genuinely stopped me in my tracks.

This week Jen surprised me with these incredible paintings of my kids, each one painted with a little story and meaning behind it.

And a couple weekends ago, Damo handed me a didgeridoo that he had designed and made himself.

But it wasn’t just a didgeridoo.

The artwork tells a story. A tribute to my Dad, where we come from, and a part of my life that means more to me than I could probably explain in an social media caption.

Both completely different gifts.

Both incredibly personal.

And both things I’ll keep forever.

It got me thinking about what this place has become over the years.

People walk through the doors as strangers.

Then they become members.

Then training partners.

Then mates.

And somewhere along the way, some of them become family.

We talk a lot about community in gyms. Sometimes so much that the word probably loses a bit of its meaning.

But this is what community means to me.

People knowing your story.

Knowing your family.

Being there for the good stuff and the hard stuff.

And caring enough to spend their own time creating something that means something to you.

I’m incredibly grateful for both of these gifts.

But even more grateful for the people who gave them to me.

Pretty special little place we’ve built. ❤️
