Sharing Tynwald Park with the NNJFC for 6 months of the year, this is terrible to see. Our thoughts go out to the New Norfolk Junior Football Club but in particular, the kids that this has impacted. The community wants children doing something productive or away from video games, and then vandals do this and ruin training and game days for children trying to have a positive impact on their lives. To all volunteers, parents, supporters and children of the NNJFC, along with the Derwent Valley Council who work tirelessly to keep the ground in great condition, we are sorry and hope the vandals are caught.

🔴⚫ Redcaps Re-Signing: Jye Lester ⚫🔴

The Redcaps are excited to announce the return of Jye Lester after a season away from the game.

Lesty’s return adds genuine pace and aggression to the Redcaps bowling attack. A fast bowler capable of making an impact with the ball, he’s a player the club is looking forward to seeing back in action.

Not only can he get the job done with the ball, but Jye is also capable of changing a game with the bat, launching towering sixes and providing plenty of entertainment for teammates and supporters alike.

We’re thrilled to welcome Lesty back to the Redcaps family.

Welcome back, Jye! 💣🏏

🔴⚫ Redcaps Re-Signing: Chris Muggleton ⚫🔴

The Redcaps are pleased to welcome Chris Muggleton back for his second season at the club.

Chris is a smart and technically sound top-order batter who consistently reads the situation and plays the role the team needs. His ability to build an innings and adapt to match conditions makes him a key contributor at the top of the order.

Add in his outstanding work in the field, and Chris continues to be an important all-round asset for the Redcaps.

We’re excited to see what his second season in Redcaps colours has in store.

Welcome back, Chris! 🏏👏

🔴⚫ Redcaps Re-Signing: Josh Rowlands ⚫🔴

The Redcaps are proud to announce the return of Josh “Mulk” Rowlands for another season.

Over the past two seasons, Mulk has cemented himself as one of the premier bowlers in the competition. His consistency, competitiveness and ability to deliver when it matters most make him a crucial member of our bowling attack.

Beyond his performances on the field, Mulk is a respected leader within the club who sets high standards and drives those around him. With the bat, he’s also known for frustrating opposition attacks and leaving plenty of “red ink” next to his name.

We’re thrilled to have Mulk back with the Redcaps.

Welcome back, Mulk! 🏏👏

🔴⚫ Redcaps Re-Signing: Jeremy Nichols ⚫🔴

The Redcaps are excited to confirm the return of Jeremy Nichols for the upcoming season.

Fresh off a season where he claimed the title of best bowler in the 1st Grade competition, Jez continues to establish himself as one of the competition’s premier pace bowlers. His fiery spells and ability to break partnerships make him a constant threat with the ball.

As if that wasn’t enough, Jeremy is also capable of producing valuable runs late in the innings when the team needs them most.

We’re delighted to have Jez back leading the attack for another season.

Welcome back, Jez! 🔥🏏

🐶 Dogs at Sporting Activities and Community Events 🐶

Derwent Valley Council understands that dogs are an important part of many families. However, dogs are not recommended at sporting activities, including training sessions and games, or at community events and festivals.

Busy sporting grounds and event spaces can be unpredictable environments, with large crowds, children, food vendors, moving vehicles, loud noises and sporting equipment all creating potential safety risks for both people and pets.

We remind dog owners that:
✔ Dogs are not permitted on playing surfaces or 10 metres of a playground.
✔ Dog waste must be picked up and disposed of appropriately.
✔ Owners must comply with the requirements of the Dog Control Act 2000 and Council's Dog Management Policy.
✔ Dogs must be under effective control at all times.

Importantly, dogs (other than guide dogs and registered assistance dogs) are not permitted at public events and festivals held on Council-maintained land unless specific approval has been granted by Council.

If your furry friend needs some exercise, Derwent Valley Council has several designated dog exercise areas throughout the municipality where dogs can enjoy a safer and more suitable environment.https://www.derwentvalley.tas.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0024/1723830/Declared-Dog-Areas-2024-11-28.pdf

Thank you for helping us keep our sporting facilities, parks and community events safe and enjoyable for everyone.
