What a weekend of tantalizing "what-ifs."
Aidan was on absolute fire from the moment wheels hit the tarmac at Collie for Thursday and Friday practice, pushing all the limits and narrowly missing out on pole position during Saturday morning’s qualifying session.
In Race 1, he delivered a masterclass in pressure, stalking the leader’s bumper for virtually the entire distance, missing only the final sliver of pace needed to launch a winning overtake. Suspecting a fueling bottleneck, the team swapped to a secondary carburetor for Race 2, aiming to give him that crucial extra edge.
Race 2 brought high drama. After slipping to third at the start, Aidan put on a fast recovery drive back to second before clipping the track edge and spinning. Upon rejoining, the carburetor ailment returned with a vengeance, crippling his pace for the remainder of the stint.
Refusing to back down, the crew reverted to the original setup for Race 3. Unfortunately, the gremlins persisted, leaving us a second off the pace and battling at the tail end of the field.
While the mechanical bad luck stings, the ultimate takeaway is crystal clear: Aidan has proven beyond doubt that he possesses the raw speed and racecraft to fight for the top step of the podium. The victory is coming—it's now just a matter of lining up the final pieces of the puzzle.
