🏉 Eglinton Public School – NRL Sporting Schools!🏉

Our Year 3 and 4 students have been developing their Rugby League skills through an exciting 5-week NRL Sporting Schools program!

Over the five weeks, students have been learning and practising fundamental Rugby League skills including passing, running, attacking, defending and teamwork, all while having fun and staying active. 🙌

It has been fantastic to see our students building confidence, learning new skills and supporting one another along the way! 💪🏉

Great skills, great teamwork and plenty of smiles!👏🏉

🏉 30 Years of the Ronny Gibbs 7s in Bourke 🏉

What an incredible milestone — 30 years of the Ronny Gibbs 7s!

The NRL, NSWRL, Far West Academy of Sport and Creative Community Concepts teamed up to celebrate the incredible contribution of Ronny Gibbs and his lasting impact on communities across Far West NSW.
For 30 years, Ronny has inspired countless children, families and communities to get involved in Rugby League, Netball and many other sports — ensuring even the smallest communities have the opportunity to participate, connect and enjoy sport.

Monday: Over 200 kids took part in Rugby League clinics in Cobar and Brewarrina, enjoying the opportunity to learn, play and develop their skills.

Tuesday: Every student from Bourke Public School and St Ignatius received a Rugby League ball to keep. Ronny Gibbs and rugby league legend Cliff Lyons also answered questions from students about their playing careers and what life is like as a professional Rugby League player.

Wednesday: It was time for the Ronny Gibbs 7s Gala Day. Bourke Shire Council unveiled Ronny “Rambo” Gibbs Hill, before U15 and U18 boys took to the field, showcasing their skills and enjoying the opportunity to play in front of Ronny himself.

Thursday: It was the girls’ turn to shine, with local schools joining together to play Rugby League as part of the Ronny Gibbs 7s celebrations.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this 30-year celebration so special.
And most importantly, thank you, Ronny Gibbs, for everything you have done for the communities of Far West NSW over the past 30 years. Your passion, generosity and commitment to giving young people opportunities through sport has made a lasting difference. ❤️🏉

Driving into Raglan Public School, sporting schools

K-6 took part in the 1st session of the NRL sporting schools sessions. Great to see all the students get involved and keen to learn new skills.

James Sheahan Catholic High School work Experience.

The NRL team were very lucky to have Charlie and Phoenix join us last week as part of the James Sheahan Work Experience program.

The boys took part in coaching sessions, gala day, and learning how to plan and run programs across the region.

Today Bathurst held the NSW Country Cup and NSW Small Schools State finals for the U14s and U16s.

There was great rugby league played across all the games. It was great to see the sportsmanship shown across all the games.

Congratulations to our winners in the U14s Country Cup Final, Red Bend Catholic College Forbes and our U14s Small Schools winners, Gilgandra HS.
Congratulations also goes to our U16s Country Cup winners, St John’s Nowra and our U16s Small Schools winners, Junee High School

Well done to Guyra High U14s School and Holy Trinity Inverell U16s who were runners up in the Small Schools Competition and to Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School U14s and Rutherford HS U16s who were runners up in the Country Cup NSW State Finals.
