NOTICE OF THEFT & COMMUNITY APPEAL FOR ASSISTANCE AND RECOGNITION OF LOCAL COUNCIL SUPPORT
It has come to our attention with great disappointment that a significant quantity of sand has been removed from our Long Jump Pits, potentially by an individual utilizing a Ute or trailer.
The maintenance of our Long Jump Pits, Synthetic Long Jump run-up, Shot Put concrete circles, Discus Cages, and associated infrastructure such as the wire around our Discus Cages is undertaken by the club.
These facilities serve not only our members during the summer season but also accommodate the local school community for athletics carnivals and are accessible to the general public for training purposes. The theft of sand, destruction of wire mesh surrounding the discus cages, and damage to the synthetic run-up all incur substantial costs to the Club, ultimately affecting the schools and general public that utilize these facilities. We kindly request that the community remains vigilant and assists us in protecting our facilities. If any suspicious activity is observed, please report it to the police, local council, and the club.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Narromine Shire Council's Parks and Gardens team for promptly attending to the local School needs and topping up the pit for their carnival today at short notice, despite having to use dirt gravel due to on hand sand availability.
The Club and schools greatly appreciate the support provided by the Parks & Gardens team.
