CLUB AT RISK OF FOLDING

Important: Club AGM Update and Call for Committee Members

On Sunday, 23 August, we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM). Unfortunately, we were unable to form a committee, which means the club is now in very real danger of folding.

This is obviously not the outcome any of us wanted, and it is a very concerning time for the club. However, there is still an opportunity for us to come together, look at our options and hopefully find a way forward.

Our club has been an important part of the local community for many years. We also hire our facilities to local schools, providing an important opportunity for local children to participate in activities. If we are unable to form a committee, the club cannot continue, and this opportunity for our local schools and children will also be lost. It would be a very sad outcome for our community.

Committee Positions Needed
For the club to get up and running for the 2026/2027 season, all executive positions must be filled.

The executive positions are:
Secretary
Treasurer
Registrar
President

We also have several smaller committee positions that need to be filled:
Championship Officer
Publicity Officer(s)
Equipment Officer(s)
Fundraising Officer
Grants Officer
Canteen Officer
Coaching Officer
2 Committee Members

While all of these roles are important, our executive positions must be filled first for the club to continue.

If you are interested in taking on a role, or would like to find out more about what is involved, please let us know. As the saying goes, many hands make light work!

Please note that taking on a committee role does require you, as per our constitution, to:
Be available to help with Thursday set-up on a rotational roster.
Be available to attend monthly meetings, either in person or online.

2026/2027 Season Times
It was also decided that this season we would trial a change to our training times.
We will continue on Thursdays, as we have done since 18th September 1987, but with the following times:
Tiny Tots: Thursday at 5:30pm — $110
U6–Adults: Thursday at 6:30pm — $170

There must always be someone present and over the age of 18 on a Thursday comp night and they need to be available to assist on the night, this is an Athletics NSW rule not a club rule

These changes are being trialled based on feedback received from families.

The club has been an important part of our community for many years, 39 years this year and it would be a great shame to see it come to an end.

No Club will mean our local schools will not have access to our facilities for their school carnivals

We will keep everyone updated as we work through the next steps and consider what can be done to keep the club going.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support the club.

Hopefully, by working together and getting a few more people involved, we can find a positive way forward and ensure the club continues for our families and community.
