Great to see such a huge turnout for our first run of the season, the Paul Ryder Memorial Shield. Northam came away winners but it was a good contest played in good spirit. A warm day saw plenty of spectators who were treated to some competitive football. A good crowd stayed for hamburgers and beers and are still glued to the close battle between the Eagles and Bulldogs.
Big thankyous to Fraser Stewart who stepped up to umpire at the last minute, Sam McMillan who cooked the BarBQ, Dani, Amanda and Kerry who kept everyone fed and Aiden Walling & Jack Lambert who marked the ground yesterday.
Footy's BACK !!! πŸ‰

The Hawks FC is currently calling for nominations and expressions of interest for the position of President for 2021. I have been at the helm for the past 3 years and have been involved with the club as Team Manager, Committee Member, Secretary, Vice President or President since 2007. You don't need to know anything about football. I didn't, but have learned from mentors in the club. The position is more one of an administrator. Good organisational skills, good communication and people skills will certainly make the job easier. If you think you might like to take on this incredibly rewarding role, please contact myself or anyone on the committee for more information. I will be staying on as a committee member and am happy to guide and help in any way I can.

Round 6 already!! This week we travel to Williams on Sunday and need all our supporters there to cheer us on. Coaches, can you send me through your final teams as soon as you have them. We only need a couple of volunteers this week. A goal umpire for B-Grade and a few people to run water (now that we're allowed) If anyone needs a lift, let me know. Awards will be back at the club around 6.30. Hope to see a big crowd for some exciting games.πŸ‰

URGENT MESSAGE:
We DO NOT have a trainer or strapper for tomorrow. Apologies. If you need strapping, either get strapped before you come or bring someone with you that can strap you. We have all the tape you need, just no-one to apply it. We will have a trainer for the rest of the season, just not tomorrow.
Also, the League has handed down a decision that we will not be allowed to have water boys tomorrow. ALL players need to bring their own water bottle, leave it in the dugout and will have to come off the ground to have a drink. This is not negotiable. Players will also have to stay on the field at half -time and only return to change-rooms after the game.
If anyone can spare an hour to help me with the casserole tea tomorrow night, it would be very appreciated.
Looking forward to finally playing footy!!!πŸ‰πŸ‰

Morning Everyone. I'm chasing 2 lovely people who could help out warming up the dishes for our casserole tea tomorrow night. About 5pm to 7pm I would expect. Also, still need one person to be a goal umpire for B-Grade. Would love everything to go smoothly for our first game so please help out your club.

Just a couple of house keeping items before Saturday. We are missing Jumpers No 33 & 55. If anyone knows who has them can they let me know or bring to training on Tuesday. We will need 2 field umpires for the D & C-Grade games on Sat. Volunteers are needed. We will also need a B-Grade field Umpire and some goal umpires for the senior games plus time keepers. Lots of jobs available so time to step up and be a club member. Reply here if you can help.

If you expect to play, please make sure you have given me a rego form. No form, no game.

All subs are now also due. $50 per senior player, $25 for juniors. Can be paid by cash or card at training. Must be paid before Saturday if you want to play.

It's finally here. Our first game of the 2020 season. πŸ‰
Sat 18th July will be a home game against Brook/Ping, starting at 9.30am with the D-Grade, 11am C-Grade, 12.30 B-Grade and then your first look at our League team at 2.20pm. All players should be there 1 hour before the game. Following the last game, we will hold awards πŸ₯‡in the clubrooms around 6pm, have a casserole tea 🍲and then party on with Matty Hough πŸ₯³into the wee small hours. Social distancing will be adhered to and hand sanitiser will be made available. Can all A-Grade local players bring a plate of something for afternoon tea and can all players bring a casserole for the evening meal.If you can bring it already hot and ready to serve about 6.30 it would be a big help.
All club members and their guests are welcome.
