SportsPower Narrogin has been serving the Upper Great Southern and Eastern Districts for over 40 years. Starting on the 23rd of April 1981 as Ballard and Hosken by Keith Ballard and Ray Hosken. Shortly after Ray moved on and the store became Ballard’s Sports Locker, a part of the Sports Locker buying group containing metropolitan and regional stores. Prior to its current location at 28 Egerton Str
eet the store was located in the Bintamilling Arcade until 1995 when the store moved into the old Tenni’s Hardware premises (current location). Making the move to the SportsPower group in 1995 was a decision that was also made by Bruce Clark, Katanning & David Lewis, Albany. The opportunities where greater and gave the Sports Locker stores a greater profile in the sports industry which ultimately lead to the demise of Sports Locker with a majority of stores moving to the SportsPower buying Group. Keith was the original Country WA representative and attended regular meetings in Melbourne to discuss catalogues and other group decisions. In 2001 Keith Ballard sold the business to Micheal Kain, and moved to Rockingham to take over a newsagency business. In 2015 Micheal Kain sold the business to current store owners Lindsay & Katrina George. Since purchasing the business, Lindsay and Katrina have made their mark, updating the store’s POS systems to be more functional as well as a more functional and modern store layout. Interior and Exterior upgrades also occurred in January and August of 2017 respectively. Since 1981 SportsPower has grown to stock over 100 brands, supply teamwear and custom clothing to sporting groups, community groups and businesses, WA College of Agriculture - Narrogin and Narrogin Senior High School uniforms. Custom Trophies and Engraving and of course we supply a wide range of Men’s and Women’s and Kids clothing, sporting equipment, accessories and fitness equipment.
