This year, we welcome one new Junior Life Member to the Foxes. And in many ways, that is just as impressive, if not more so, because it demonstrates loyalty and resilience.
Up until 2024, this player had been part of an age group where there were always two Foxes teams, and both had their share of success over the years. But, for a variety of reasons, by the time the 2026 Under 17 season came around, there were only a handful of Foxes players left. As a result, a merged team with Fountain Gate was created to make sure the kids still had the opportunity to play footy.
Jamesβ football journey at the Foxes started well before he was even allowed to pull on the jumper and play Under 8s in 2017.
At the age of three, he was already down at the club, running around and no doubt making a nuisance of himself while watching his big brother play.
In 2022, as an Under 13, James was part of the Foxes Blacks premiership team who, on the day, happened to come up against the Foxes Grey Under 13 side. A great achievement, and a special moment for the club as well, but I am glad that we didnβt often have to have two Foxes teams playing each other!
James has been a reliable defender for most of his junior career, but he has still managed to sneak forward often enough to put 12 goals on the board.
The Vogelβs have been a big part of the Foxes with James joining mum Tracy and brother Bayden as life members.
