Halloween traditions were influenced from ancient Celtic harvest festivals, particularly the Gaelic festival Samhain (sow-win)..

Traditionally in on children donned costumes and pretended to be malicious spirits as they went ‘ ’ around the local streets. It was believed that, by disguising themselves, they would blend in with any wandering spirits and remain safe from harm. After performing tricks or songs, were given gifts to help ward off evil-and the custom would become trick or treating.

While most forms of exercise stimulate endorphins, it seems dancing releases more endorphins than typical aerobic movement. Dancing is also more successful at reducing cortisol levels. Since cortisol is a stress hormone, this is another reason that dancing can increase feelings of happiness and relaxation.
