"I have been at this gym for almost 3 months now and have been absolutely loving it. 2 weeks into starting there, I joined the 8 week challenge.
When I joined the gym I was 74.3kg. 2 weeks later I weighed in for the start of the 8 week challenge at 73.4kg.
I had 2 goals for the challenge. Goal 1 was to weigh within the 60s and Goal 2 was to make into the 66kg range.
The training sessions were amazing and really helped me reach my goals quickly. Altering what meals I prepped was the biggest challenge to ensure I kept carbs and fat as low as possible whilst still feeling like I had a sustainable meal.
Half way into the challenge and I had already achieved my first goal. By the last day and weigh-in, I was 67.0kg so only 1g off hitting my second goal and I was so excited about that.
In the end I lost over 7kg and am feeling the fittest I have ever felt."
Amazing work! The great thing about challenges is that you can really focus in and set your mind on doing your best because it's only for a short time.
Some will say it doesn't teach you anything but I disagree... counting calories and learning to eyeball portion sizes is a great benefit and learning to deal with "actual hunger" and perceived hunger is also very beneficial.
You can always build upon the short term strategies with long term strategies after the challenge with the added motivation of already achieving great results
