πŸ’›πŸ™ Jelly Adventures with Evelyn & Violet πŸ™πŸ’›

Jelly has certainly been busy this week with Evelyn and Violet and what an adventure it has been!

From a dental check-up to music lessons, a little retail therapy, beach adventures, and even taking on some barista duties, Jelly has been living the best life. β˜•πŸŽ΅πŸ–οΈ

One of the highlights of the week was meeting Mabel the puppy, who quickly became a new furry friend. πŸΆπŸ’›

After last week's game, Jelly was treated to a delicious Mango Jelly Frappe, which went down a treat after all that excitement and activity. πŸ₯πŸ₯€

And it seems someone was a very lucky ducky after checking out the sales and finding some fabulous new PJs! πŸ›οΈβœ¨

Thank you, Evelyn and Violet, for taking such wonderful care of Jelly and sharing so many fun adventures. We can't wait to see where the next journey is!

πŸ’›πŸ’πŸ’™ AROUND THE GROUNDS WITH NOVAS TURTLES πŸ’›πŸ’πŸ’™

This week we're shining the spotlight on our amazing **Novas Turtles** and sharing some of their season highlights!

Led by Coach **Bronwyn** and Manager **Kylie**, this talented team continues to impress with their teamwork, determination, and positive attitude on and off the court. Their hard work paid off again this weekend with another fantastic win, helping them climb to **2nd place on the ladder**. What an incredible achievement! πŸπŸ‘

The Turtles continue to grow in confidence each week and are proving to be a force to be reckoned with as the season heads towards finals.

A huge congratulations to this week's award recipients, **Annabelle** and **Zahra**. 🌟 Your effort, commitment, and contribution to the team did not go unnoticed. You should both be very proud of yourselves!

Well done to all the Turtles players, coaches, and supporters for another successful week. Keep training hard, supporting one another, and enjoying every moment of the season.

πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ’™ NOVAS MARLINS MAKING WAVES! πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸ’™

What a sensational performance from our Novas Marlins this week, pulling off a fantastic win and continuing their impressive season form! 🏐πŸ”₯

One of the highlights of the day was seeing injured teammates Holly and Eliza on the sidelines supporting their team and celebrating the win together. While both girls are currently recovering from injury, their commitment to the team and positive spirit was wonderful to seeπŸ’›

The Novas Marlins are currently sitting 3rd on the ladder, separated only by goal percentage in an incredibly tight competition between all the teams. Every game matters and this team is certainly proving they belong amongst the competition leaders.

Coached by our Novas President, Kirsten, this team is looking sharp. Their teamwork, determination, skill, and never-give-up attitude make them a joy to watch. If you get the chance, do yourself a favour and stop by the courts to watch the Marlins in action β€” they will not disappoint! πŸ‘

A huge congratulations to Joe and Alice on receiving this week's team awards. Your hard work, commitment, and positive attitude continue to shine through each week. 🌟

To help keep our netballers moving at their best, we would also like to thank our wonderful sponsor Dr Tim and the team at Narangba Chiropractic. Whether it's helping with alignment, movement, recovery, or injury prevention, they play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our Novas family.

Please remember to support the businesses that support our club. πŸ’›

πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ’™ ANOTHER GREAT WEEK FOR NOVAS! πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ’™

Another successful week on the courts for our Novas family!

A special celebration for our Novas Otters, who secured a well-earned draw this week while also welcoming a new teammate to the team. We are so excited to have you join the Novas family and can't wait to watch you grow and develop throughout the season. 🦦🏐

Our Novas Seals came heartbreakingly close to their first win, going down by just 2 goals after a hard-fought match. Girls, keep digging deep, keep training hard, and keep believing in yourselves. That win is absolutely within reach if you continue putting in the effort each week! 🦭πŸ’ͺ

A huge thank you to Sam for stepping up and helping the team while Bek wasn't 100% fit to take the court. Your willingness to help wherever needed is what makes our club so special. πŸ’›

Congratulations to all of our weekly award winners. We are incredibly proud of your effort, teamwork, sportsmanship, and commitment both on and off the court. 🌟

As the weather cools down, remember to stay warm, train hard, and keep supporting one another. We can't wait to see everyone back on the courts again next week.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to all of our sponsors. Your support helps make our season possible and allows our players to continue enjoying the sport they love. Please remember to support the businesses that support our club.

STOP.STEP UP. - WE SUPPORT ALL OUR CLUBS

Narangba Valley Novas proudly supports the STOP. STEP UP. campaign and stands firmly against inappropriate, aggressive, or abusive behaviour directed towards any player, coach, umpire, volunteer, or club.

Netball is a game, but more importantly, it is a place where children learn teamwork, resilience, confidence, and sportsmanship. Every player deserves the opportunity to enjoy their time on the court in a safe, positive, and supportive environment.

Let's remember that these are our children. They have the right to enjoy their "hour of power" each week without being exposed to negative comments, aggressive behaviour, or poor sportsmanship from adults on the sidelines.

Pine Rivers Netball Association does a fantastic job providing a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for our children to play the sport they love. Their volunteers, officials, coaches, umpires, and administrators work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure competition days run smoothly and that players have the opportunity to develop both on and off the court.

However, creating a safe environment is everyone's responsibility. We all need to get on board and do our part to ensure our children feel safe, supported, and encouraged every time they step onto the court.

As parents, spectators, coaches, and volunteers, we play a critical role in setting the standard. Let's lead by example, respect officials and volunteers, encourage all players, and remember that the game is for the kids.

πŸ’› Be positive.
🀍 Be respectful.
πŸ’™ STOP poor behaviour and STEP UP for our players.

Together, we can ensure netball remains a game that every child loves to play.

View From the Hill.

Community netball clubs across Australia are increasingly struggling to fill umpire positions as officials abandon the sport due to escalating levels of sideline abuse from spectators, coaches and parents. Recent reports have highlighted junior umpires being yelled at, sworn at and intimidated during matches, with many associations warning that the environment is becoming unsafe and unsustainable.

Research and commentary surrounding grassroots sport continue to point toward the same issue …abuse is driving officials away faster than new umpires can be recruited and developed. Young officials are particularly vulnerable, with many choosing to walk away from the game entirely after repeated negative experiences.
Recent incidents in community sport, including junior netball competitions, have further exposed the growing culture problem surrounding behavior toward officials.

Netball Australia’s Community Code of Conduct now explicitly prohibits verbal abuse, intimidation and aggressive dissent toward umpires, reflecting the seriousness of the issue facing the game at grassroots level.
Community sport should be built on respect, development and enjoyment, yet many competitions are now battling to retain the very people required to make games possible.

Without umpires there is no competition.

Our Novas Seals had a tough game, but we were treated to some great netball from both teams. πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ’™

The Seals continue to show resilience, determination, and a willingness to keep learning, no matter the score. It is fantastic to see the team's growth and development each week. πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ’™

A huge congratulations to Savannah, who earned Player of the Match with her outstanding effort. With so many tips, intercepts, and a relentless determination to win the ball, she was everywhere on the court and made a real impact for the team. ⭐

Well done also to Rebekah, who faced a strong opposition player and demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship throughout the entire match. Your attitude, respect, and commitment to your team were wonderful to see. ⭐

You are all making so many improvements, and the effort being put in at training is clearly reflecting on the court each week. Keep working hard, supporting one another, and enjoying your netball journey. Coach Grant is so proud of you all. πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ’™
