Okinawan Goju-ryu Karate Queensland (OGK Qld) is committed to preserving Okinawan Goju-ryu Karate traditions in their purest form.

Traditional Karate stems back many many generations concentrating on traditional life values such as respect, discipline and self confidence.

The meaning in english explained, 'Go' translates to 'hard' and 'Ju' translates to 'soft'. 'Ryu' translates to 'style' or '

school'. This is the essence of our style, bringing the 'hard' and 'soft' together to ensure balance.

Benefits of Goju-ryu Karate are for a lifetime. Self confidence, respect and self discipline equal a positive curb on bullying and intolerance of others. The focus element is crucial for development in all ages and can be seen to improve school work, employment and everyday life.

Self Defence should be a vital component of our lives today. The techniques used throughout Goju-ryu are useful in a self defence aspect should you be in that predicament.

Okinawan Goju-ryu Karate is a style that suits all ages and abilities. The beauty of Goju-ryu is your Sensei (teacher) can adapt the movements to YOUR ability to get the same results, regardless of whatever you believe your restrictions are.

Whatever your goals, aspirations or abilities, Okinawan Goju-ryu Karate has become a beneficial passion for thousands around the world and our club has something for you and your children!

Hi Tiny Tigers,

We have created a Tiny Tigers Booklet containing all the information you'll need for gradings, including terminology, stances, techniques, and other important karate knowledge.

While the booklet is not mandatory, it is a valuable resource that will help students navigate their karate journey and prepare for future gradings.

The booklets are available for $12.50 each. A sample copy is available to view at the dojo if you would like to have a look before purchasing.

Please see Sensei Rich or Senpai Ash if you would like to purchase one.
