Xtreme Winch Challenge

Xtreme Winch Challenge Comeup XWC Series

This will be a 3 Round Series held in Qld & NSW David Metcalfe started conducting 4x4 events back in 1996 to raise money for charity.

In 1998 along with Lance Gillies ventured to the International Rainforest Challenge of Malaysia. We returned in 1999 & 2000, Lance returned with me in 2007 in the "Midlife Crises". 2009 saw the "Midlife Crises" along with Alex Driscoll return to the RFC

Since 1998 until 2015 I have missed the 2005 & 2006 RFC. During this time I have been an Official in 1 RFC China and have been Course Master at t

he 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 RFC India Events. And we all know what happened in 2020 - COVID which shut down most every thing. In February 2000 Xtreme 4x4 Sport started the Xtreme Winch Challenge and with the support of ARB the first ARB XWC was held. The naming rights in 2000 and 2001 were shared with Landcruiser Mountain Park, TJM and ATECO until ARB took on the entire roll. After 16 years of the ARB XWC it was time for ARB to say goodbye, to them I say thank you for being part of my life, it was fun. So 2016 saw a new Sponsor - Comeup Industries Taiwan come on board for the Xtreme Winch Challenge Series. After the start of the new world or the way it has become in 2020, and Insurance issues in 2022, we start again.

2023 will see the XWC back to the original set up with David Metcalfe / Xtreme 4x4 Sport taking full control again with the support of John Leeson and Robert Eddy along with my band of trusted and long term Officials. Now the fun begins.

Good news we will be now able to run with AASA for the upcoming XWC, all competitors must be members of AASA and vehicle must comply to AASA Rules.
XWC will have sup regs for the running of event.
I will advise when all necessary paperwork has been completed and Approved.
After this we can set dates for the XWC 🙂

Today for myself and many others was a very hard day, filled with many tears and stories about our beloved Jumbo.

It all came crashing home as Jumbo took his last ride in the Farmtruck rushing into the finish garage.

This man will be missed by many people, he will live on in all of us.

I must say that Jumbo affected many peoples lives, due to the amount of people there today at his farewell.

Apart from the people there, family, mates, and his XWC extended family, I was in impressed by the support given to the family and friends by the NSW Prison Service, they were unreal.

Jumbo lived his life for family and friends before the demon’s took control that sent him on a path that to him, the only way to escape was to take his only life, by doing this his enemies can no longer hurt him, but they will haunt everyone that were lucky enough to have crossed his path.

So please, let us all learn something here so Jumbo’s death was not in vain.

Please talk to people, all is not lost for those that are having problems, do not bottle it up.

Godspeed my friend

There was only 1 Jumbo and he will be missed by all involved with XWC.

As a Competitor or one of my main Officials nothing was too much for him.

I will miss him no end.
