Armed with little more than a wool bedroll and a handful of essential items, Gordon demonstrates how knowledge and experience can replace heavy equipment in the Australian bush. Along the way, he creates fire using a bow drill, catches and cooks a catfish over the coals, settles into his cave camp for the night, and leaves the site exactly as he found it.

It was a privilege to be able to host Paul Kirtley from Frontier Bushcraft (UK) this past week running a 6 Day Campcraft and Axe Skills Course in Nambucca State Forest.

The course covered such things as axe types, usage, splitting techniques and sharpening, carving, camp cooking using different suspension systems and pot hangers, making various improvised tools and equipment, knots and tarp configurations, and much more. BSA students had the opportunity to learn from one of the world's leading bushcraft instructors. An excellent course!
