Following on from yesterday’s BPHLL preliminary finals, today delivered another cracker of a day.

Play began under tough conditions, with rain in the first two hours forcing two stoppages. Thankfully, the weather cleared and play was able to resume.

Nambour faced Glasshouse Blue and, despite a strong effort, went down on all four rinks, ending our run to the final. Palmwoods Hawks took on Glasshouse Yellow and came away with a solid win to progress.

The final between Glasshouse Blue and Palmwoods Hawks was a great contest. Palmwoods dominated the triples with a big margin, but Glasshouse proved too strong across the remaining three rinks, securing the overall win and taking out the 2026 BPHLL Championship.

A fantastic showcase of bowls, with plenty of spectators enjoying not only high-quality competition but also the great sportsmanship on display.

A terrific competition for our Hinterland clubs—already looking forward to doing it all again next year.

What a fantastic day at Nambour Bowls Club hosting the BPHLL Preliminary Finals!

Clubs gave it their all on the green — Palmwoods, Glasshouse, Maleny, Pomona, The Heights, and of course Nambour. Great competition and even better sportsmanship throughout the day.

In the afternoon session, Glasshouse Yellow and Glasshouse Blue secured their spots straight through to the semi-finals.

The remaining games went right down to the wire, with Palmwoods, Nambour Heights, and Nambour battling it out for the final places in tomorrow’s matches.

Teams hit the green at 9:00am, dressed in their best green St Patrick’s gear, bringing plenty of colour and spirit to the day.

The first club championship for 2026, the Mixed Pairs was finalised this afternoon in very hot conditions. The final score was 26/20 in a hard fought game. Congratulations to all players, especially to Nev Perren and Jane Camp(sub) the winners over Victor Howe and Gayle Morton.
