🎉 What an incredible start to the season for ! 🌟

We had a fantastic showing at the recent Spring Carnival in Bundaberg! It was amazing to see all the teamwork, dedication, and reward for effort from our athletes at our very first carnival of the season. Huge congratulations to everyone who competed and gave it their all! 🏃‍♂️👟💨

A special shoutout to Kupa K. for an absolute masterclass performance, breaking THREE centre records (100m, 200m, and Javelin) so early in the new season! Outstanding effort, Kupa! 🏆🔥

Also Eli S for an outstanding run and new CR in the U17 boys 800m. Great run Eli 🏆🔥

A massive thank you to all our families for making last weekend such a huge success. It was awesome seeing all those smiling faces out there having fun. We're expecting our numbers to continue growing over the next few weeks, so please give a warm welcome to all our new families joining and trialling with us.

And a special shout-out to our fantastic parent helpers – we can't run our program without you. Your support is what makes it all happen!

This week we’ll need some help to pack down our fields at the end of competition as some of our regulars will off supporting their kids in some soccer grand finals. If you stay to lend a hand we’d be very grateful.

This Week's Rundown
We have our eyes on the sky for tomorrow morning’s competition.

We inspected the track this afternoon and it looks great for comp. Whether we can go ahead tomorrow morning will all come down to how much rain we get overnight and what the weather looks like in the morning. We may need to adjust our program as well. We’ve got 4 events programmed for all ages again.

Keep an eye on our page for late notices. No news is good news. We won’t be able to respond messages unfortunately.

Fingers crossed for clear skies tomorrow.

With a little bit of wet weather about, this is a good time to talk about our wet weather policy.

Athletics is an all weather activity and in most cases, competition and coaching will go ahead in the rain. However, the safety of our athletes and our team is always our top priority.

We're always watching the conditions closely. If there is wet weather about, we may make one of the following decisions:

Modified Program: If it's safe to proceed with caution, we may offer a modified program. This means we might postpone higher-risk events like javelin, hurdles, or high jump and replace them with other events to keep everyone safe and still have a great competition.

Cancellation: If we decide it's simply not safe to compete (typically torrential rain or lightening which makes it unsafe to set up the fields, poses a danger to our athletes or team or our equipment) or the grounds are not safe to compete on - we'll post a cancellation notice on our page as early as possible, with a goal of having a decision by 7:30 am on competition days.

We never take the decision to cancel lightly, so please be sure to check our page before heading out.

Also, as part of our community we want you to know about Little Athletics Queensland’s ongoing partnership with White Cloud Foundation . They provide FREE mental health support for all athletes, staff, volunteers, and family members over 12 years of age in Queensland.

This service is available not just for those experiencing symptoms of depression and/or anxiety, but also for anyone who wants guidance on how to support someone who is struggling.

Mental health matters, and we're here to ensure everyone has access to the support they need.

Another star shining bright! Well done Savannah 🤩💪

Local athlete Savannah has just broken a 32-year-old 200m record at a recent districts' carnival, adding another incredible achievement to her growing list.

The Nambour Little Athletics star - who is Nicklin Young Athlete of the Month - also placed first in the 100m, first in long jump and first in the 70m sprint races at the Sunshine Coast Regional Championships, before competing at the Queensland Little Athletics State Championships.

Savannah has broken three records in her short time at Nambour Little Athletics. Congrats Savannah, you are a very deserving Nicklin Young Athlete. 👏
