Northcoast Active-riders Group (Nags) NAGs is a friendly dressage-focussed group on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Join the club or enter events via Nominate. Inquiries: [email protected]

EA affiliated, we run Official & Unofficial dressage competitions, clinics, & protocol days. We cater for all levels or riders - from those beginning their Dressage careers to those riding Grand Prix at National & International level. The club runs Social Training days from February to November, aimed at providing a fun safe environment for everyone. Our Associate Championships are run in May each year, giving even our riders that don't want to ride at an Offical level a chance to win some great prizes (and its a lot of fun!)

There are 2 Official events each year, culminating in the Sunshine Coast Unofficial Dressage Championships run in September. Nags has been running for 40+ years, with many of our founding members still taking an active role in the club.

Lea Bierman was a founding committee member of NAGs, helping to establish NAGs and create the culture we have today. She dedicated countless hours and many years to growing the love of our sport on the Sunshine Coast and in Queensland. The recipient of many accolades, including the 2019 Equestrian QLD Service to Sport Award, Lea’s contribution to dressage and equestrian sport was enormous. Sadly, we lost Lea July 2022.

There was nothing Lea loved more than dressage and dancing, so we are combining the two in honour of her!

What a day it turned out to be, sunshine and rain rolling through in equal measure, but that didn’t stop a good turnout and some seriously impressive riding. Massive thanks to Sue Huxley from Hygain for her feed bag talk (we can all read a label properly now), to Hygain for their generous sponsorship, to Duane and Emma Ashton of Mountain View Stables for hosting us so warmly, and to RDO Equipment for the tractor socks that stole the show. Congratulations to our Champions and to everyone who rode, volunteered, or turned up to support. This is what makes our club what it is.

Mark it in the diary. Competition kicks off at 7:30am sharp, and between rounds we’re taking a proper break for a complimentary BBQ lunch, thanks to Mountain View and Hygain. Riders and supporters welcome.

Top placings take home Mountain View sashes (1st to 3rd) and ribbons (4th to 6th), and over lunch Sue Huxley from Hygain is running us through Equine Nutrition 101, sample bags included.
