Nambour's two champions, Gayle and Corey, both put in outstanding performances despite bowing out in the first round of their respective championships.

Gayle faced Dorelle from Headland Pacific and found herself in early trouble, trailing 9–0. True to form, Gayle showed her fighting spirit, steadily working her way back into the match before eventually going down by the narrowest of margins, 25–24. It was a terrific comeback and a great display of determination.
Corey, competing in his very first championship, came up against the experienced Dominic from Palmwoods. It was always going to be a challenging contest, but Corey matched his opponent for much of the game as the scores remained close. Dominic opened up a 18–13 lead, but Corey responded strongly to close the gap to 20–18. Despite his spirited comeback, Dominic regained control and went on to win 26–18.
Congratulations to both Gayle and Corey on their excellent efforts. A special mention to Corey, who has only been playing bowls for 18 months. His performance showed tremendous promise, and he certainly did Nambour proud. He has a very bright future in the game.

Hi Nambour bowlers and friends. Tomorrow our club singles champions Corey and Gayle will be playing in the district C of C event at Kawana Bowls Club. Please get along and give them your support if you possibly can. I know they’ll do the club proud. I can’t be there as I’ll be freezing down in Victoria but I wish them both all the best.

Today was a perfect day for bowls and the finalists in our Ladies Singles Championship match made the most of it.
Gayle Morton eventually had a win over the injured Judy Stephenson 25 to 22 but it was a battle all the way with the lead changing many times. At 22 all Gayle put in 3 lovely bowls to take the title. Congratulations to both the ladies, it was definitely a game worthy of a final. Gayle will now play in the C of C event at Club Kawana.

The Men's Pairs Championship Final was another great contest between Neil Krome and Lyle Gibson and the father-and-son combination of Brett and Marty Paulsen.
Brett and Marty got away to a very handy early lead. Neil and Lyle then settled into the game and gradually narrowed the margin, but they were unable to gain the upper hand. Brett and Marty maintained their advantage and eventually claimed the championship.
It is believed this is the first time in Nambour Bowls Club history that a father-and-son team has won the Men's Pairs Championship, making the victory even more special.
Congratulations to Brett and Marty on a wonderful achievement, and well done to Neil and Lyle on a hard-fought final. 🏆👏

Yesterday was a great day at. Nambour Bowls Club with 26 teams contesting the Open Fours day sponsored by Nambour RSL.

🏆 What a great afternoon of bowls at Nambour Bowls Club!

The Men's Singles Final featured Brett Paulsen and Corey Perren. Brett returned to the sport this year, while Corey is only in his second year of playing bowls, making it a fantastic achievement for both players to reach the final.
It was a hard-fought contest with only a point or two separating them for much of the game. Eventually, Corey edged ahead to lead 24–19 before claiming the next end to secure the title.
Congratulations to both players on a terrific match played in great spirit. The future of bowls at Nambour looks bright with these two young guns leading the way. 👏🏆🎳

Our 2026 Ladies Pairs Championship was won by Gayle Morton and Jennifer Scotland (first championship win for Jennifer so very exciting) over Syl Fisk and Bev Krome. A very hard fought game with the final score being 18 - 16.
Gayle and Jennifer will represent Nambour at the Champion of Champions event being held at The Waves Caloundra on Saturday May 30th and Sunday 31st.
Nambour members please try and be there to support them.
