Mixed triples comp was held at Club de Petanque Adelaide on Sunday 14th June which saw Ha, Van and Nathan (ESP) take top spot, defeating PPC's Heike, John and Phil in the final.

Sandy (CPA), Maureen (PPC) & Bruce (CPA) prevailed in the Consolante over Karen, Richard and Fran CPA.

Dry and sunny conditions kept up all day though there’s definitely a chill in the air.

Another delicious lunch was served to particpants, well done CPA members Rada and Claudia, big shout to CPA's Adrian, Phil, Rob and JP, for organising games and raffle, and to all the helpers who set up and cleared up!

Thanks to Club De Pentaque Adelaide for assistance with this write-up

Another cold, but not wet or windy Wednesday night at the club , there were around 27 brave people who came along and enjoyed a few games as well as a Chicken Schnitzel Burger with Coleslaw and Cheese. A nice thing to warm you up on a cold night.

Thanks to the cooks and clean-up crew. See you Saturday.

Well we had a cool night for the last round of the Super Melee for PPC. This week in Adelaide we have had an unusual amount of wet weather, which we welcomed but makes it trickier to get in a good game of pétanque.

Last night we were fortunate to get in two games even if it was on the cool side and only a shower at the end, we still had 40 people attend to be part of this competition.

To warm everyone up Wendy our chef prepared a lovely delicious Irish Stew with Dumplings, with a choice of beef, lamb or vegetarian. Followed by a serve of Chocolate self-saucing pudding with Ice Cream. Yum Thank you Wendy, we hope that Wendy and Alan have a great trip away see you when you get back.

The new quarter starts in July and the winners for the last 3 months will be announced.

Thanks to everyone who assisted with the Bar and clean-up.

The club will be open on Saturday from 2.00, rain hail or shine!

Memorial Cup today, remembering those from the petanque family who are no longer with us.

Sandwiched between rain yesterday and rain tomorrow, Prospect (as usual) organised near perfect Autumn weather, with just a few spots of rain.

The trees were in full colour, and while the weather was cool, the competition between the 24 teams was hot, as was a fantastic roast chicken and a mountain of vegies for lunch followed by sticky date pudding cooked up by Wendy!

Results saw:
Van and Ha defeat Ray and HaeJung in the Principale,
Dom and Rob take out the Consolante,
Maureen and Geoff win the Conviviale,
Dave and Charlie win Social 1
Rada and Tina win Social 2 and
Michael and Janet Social 3.

Roland accidentally let slip that it was Miriam's birthday today - happy birthday Miriam!

Thanks to the Prospect crew for organising: non playing help from Brett on bar and timing, Steve with his brand new hip on scoring, David on chicken fetching and serving and Yvonne for helping clean up!

On a cold evening what is better than a warm hearty meal of Curry Sausage Stew and mash potato served with warm Bread.

People still got to play a game or two. Thanks again to the chef and her helpers Brett, Leen and Dineke, who were chief potato and onion peelers and dicers.

Not too much spice, but enough to keep you warm while playing.

See you all on Saturday

Join us on 31 May for our Memorial Cup! Hope to see you there for another great day at Prospect.

Another glorious Wednesday Night for a great night of Pentaque. First game started at 7.00pm with a ball in the bucket, then spread out to give us random double teams. We had around 40 people attend and join in the game, when the bell rung for dinner, there was a good rush for a meal, which was lovingly prepared by Roberta and Pierre. A delicious meal of chicken cacciatore served with rice, dessert was a Toblerone and Walnut cupcake. Thanks to our chefs for a great meal. Thanks to the people in the Bar and those who helped clean up in the kitchen.

Our next session for Petanque is Saturday, see you there.

The 19th annual Spicy Bites was held as an afternoon/evening tournament on Saturday 9th May. This event catering is usually done by Shireen Malani Vaswani who would prepare a beautiful Indian meal for those attending. This year she couldn’t do it herself, so under her guidance Anna, Alexi, Terri & Wendy prepared a beautiful Indian meal for participants.

Final results in the Principale saw Prospect Members Richard Voskamp and Liz Blight came runners up in the Principale in a thrilling final against Ken & Nick decided by 1 point on the final end of the game. With Terence & Ha winning the Consolante against Alexi & George. Thanks to the volunteers and everyone who played and made it a great day.

Thanks to ESP for holding the event and the photos for this post.
