📢MURWILLUMBAH CRICKET President's Update📢
As we begin another exciting season at Murwillumbah Cricket Club, I wanted to take the opportunity to reflect on the year that was and, more importantly, to thank everyone who has been part of the journey.
Following our recent AGM, I have made the decision to step down as President. It has been an absolute privilege to serve in the role, and I am incredibly grateful for the support I've received from our members, players, volunteers, sponsors and the wider cricket community throughout my time as President.
Firstly, I'd like to sincerely thank our committee. The success of any sporting club comes from the people who volunteer their time behind the scenes, and I have been fortunate to work alongside such a dedicated and passionate group. Your commitment, ideas and willingness to always put the club first have helped make Murwillumbah Cricket Club stronger both on and off the field.
Looking back, we have plenty to be proud of. Our Third Grade and Fourth Grade teams both claimed premierships, which was a fantastic reward for the hard work and commitment shown throughout the season. Our Second Grade side enjoyed another strong campaign, reaching the Semi Finals and narrowly missing out on progressing further. Across our junior grades, participation continued to grow, our teams remained highly competitive, and it was wonderful to see so many young cricketers developing their skills while enjoying the game. The future of our club is certainly in good hands.
Off the field, the club has continued to make enormous strides. Our sponsorship program has continued to strengthen, and I would like to sincerely thank every one of our sponsors for their ongoing support. Your contribution allows us to invest back into our players, facilities and the future of the club, and we simply couldn't achieve what we do without you.
One of the highlights over the past year has been seeing our facilities transformed. The new clubhouse roof, upgraded toilets, fresh rendering and paintwork, together with the completion of the new car park, have completely changed the look and feel of our home. Our club is looking better than it has in many years and is something every member should be incredibly proud of. These improvements will continue to benefit our players, members and the wider community for many seasons to come.
As I hand over the role of President, I couldn't be happier to see Casey McCarron stepping into the position. Casey has already demonstrated a genuine passion for the club and a strong commitment to its future. I have every confidence that, with the support of our committee and members, she will continue to build on the positive momentum we've created together. I wish Casey every success and know the club is in very capable hands.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has played a part in making my time as President so enjoyable. Whether you've pulled on the whites, coached a junior team, volunteered behind the scenes, supported our fundraising efforts, sponsored the club or simply cheered us on from the sidelines, you've helped make Murwillumbah Cricket Club the special place that it is.
I look forward to watching the club continue to grow and succeed in the years ahead and will always be proud to be part of the Panthers family.
