CALLING ALL PARENTS & FRIENDS!

As many of you know, it takes a team to run a regatta, a team of officials who look after your kids on the water, and ensure the safety, and fairness, of every race at every regatta. They marshal, manage, supervise and start, follow and judge the finish of every crew and competitor. And they are all volunteers!

And where do they come from? Well, some are former rowers, but most are parents who've offered to help out, either judging or boat driving, and realised how much better the view is! No, really they're mostly parents who've enjoyed the activities out on the water and have gone on to learn how to become a Boat Race Official and help make sure your regattas run smoothly.

And now it's time to bring some more onboard! So if you are interested in lending a hand just at the GCRASRA regattas, or keen to get involved beyond, we would love to meet you and have you as part of the team. And you can help out with recording, boat driving and even a little bit of judging as soon as this Saturday, the first GCRASRA Regatta of the 2019 Season. If you make your way to the Judge's tent (on the Finish Line) and let us know you're willing to lend a hand we'd love to have you involved!

Less than 3 weeks to the start of the 2017 GCRASRA regatta Season, and the final swing of training for all those crews!

The rains and flooding last week has caused a lot of damage to the Coomera Rowing Course, and RQ have requested some assistance to get the course back into shape this week, for Qld Masters this weekend and our events after that. An excerpt from an email from RQ;

"We are planning another working bee on Wednesday and Thursday so if you can lend a hand please register at http://www.rowingqld.asn.au/events/8350/ "

If you are able to lend a hand for a few hours, or all day, either day, it would be great. Register on the link below and post on this post! Thanks.
