TWEED VALLEY TRIATHLETES

I’M pleased to have helped secure $15,300 in State funding for Tweed Valley Triathletes (TVT) Incorporated to replace its ageing Electronic Sport Timing System (ESTS).

This critical piece of equipment should be installed before late September’s opening of the Murwillumbah-based club’s next competitive season, allowing officials to efficiently run their weekly Saturday morning events.

The beauty of the ESTS is that it enables automated and accurate recording of each triathlon competitor’s swim time, cycle time, run time, and overall event time.

TVT’s existing system is over 10 years old, showing signs of failure, and in dire need of replacement, and I thank NSW Premier Chris Minns for approving the funding.

Congratulations to Club Secretary Chris Goudkamp and Treasurer Matt Lamont on putting forward a compelling case for funding this new sporting infrastructure.
