What an incredible week on the Gold Coast for our MTC super stars!

A huge congratulations to Chloe and Farah, who proudly represented Victoria at the Australian Teams Championships after being selected as two of just THREE U11 girls from across the state.

The Victorian U11 Girls team finished in an impressive 5th place out of 12 teams, competing against the best young players from around Australia.

We’re so proud of Chloe and Farah for their hard work, commitment, and the way they represented both Victoria and MTC throughout the week. Experiences like these are invaluable, and we can’t wait to see what comes next for both of them.

We’re proud to recognise someone whose commitment to our club spans more than two decades - Ron Schweitzer.

Ron first became involved in the club around 2005, when he and his son started playing regularly. By 2007, he’d joined the committee, and by 2010 he had stepped into the role of Treasurer, a position he continues to hold today.

Over the years, Ron has worn more hats than we can count

🎾Competition Teams Convenor for both adults and juniors
🎾Social Tennis Convenor for the past five years
🎾Project lead for the court lights installation in 2018
🎾Project lead for the clubhouse renovation
🎾Project lead for the recent court resurfacing
🎾The person who deals with council, solves problems, and keeps things moving!

He was also instrumental in bringing our fabulous coach Jorge on board, a decision that has played a huge role in making the club sustainable and vibrant today.

To honour Ron’s extraordinary contribution and the impact he’s had on every corner of the club, we’re thrilled to announce that Court 2, MTC’s centre court, will now be known as Schweitzer Court. A fitting tribute to someone who has helped shape the club we all enjoy.

What a day! 🏆 Congratulations to all four of our teams that made it to the finals today and all four came away with the win! An amazing achievement and a reflection of the hard work from our players and coaches.

Section 1 defeated Tennis World 5:36 1:20
Section 2 defeated Frankston 4:30 2:22
Section 4 defeated Black Rock 4:29 2:22
Section 21 defeated Coatesville 5:34 1:14

A huge congratulations to 4 of our 5 teams who progressed through their Semi Finals and secured fantastic wins to book their places in the Grand Final next Sunday!

While S16’s finals came to an end today against the number 1 team, they should be incredibly proud of their fabulous season.

We are incredibly proud of all our junior teams for their hard work and sportsmanship throughout the season.
An amazing 5 out of our 7 teams have qualified for the semi-finals this Sunday - a fabulous achievement and a testament to the effort put in by our players and coaches
