We can’t believe that Spud is still looking for his new home! His current owner wants him to find his new family so that he can be loved and adored as much as he deserves.

He has been an absolute pleasure to have at Onyx over the last few months and is a real delight to ride. He is happy, willing to give everything a go, and has a lot of fun buttons which makes every ride one that you look forward to.

He will be suited to someone less experienced who wants a fuss-free confidence builder to learn the ropes of dressage with, or someone more experienced who would like a really lovely natured but super talented smaller mount.

Most of all we want to find Spud a home where he will be adored and given all the love he deserves. Please get in touch if you think that could be you! 🥔🩵

Meet the team Part One:

✨ Skyfall Z ✨

Bondi is an 8yo Zangershiede warmblood by Luxury Ego Z (Lux Z) out of a Charlemagne Ego Z mare.

Braelie has had Bondi since a 3yo and she has spent all of that time learning how to work with his quirks. He’s incredibly talented and athletic, and is a big fan of showing off that athleticism through some interpretive dance.

They have become a great team, moving up through the heights of showjumping together whilst taking the time to consolidate strong foundations and keep Bondi confident and happy.

Braelie is often seen laughing at Bondi as he shows off his latest interpretive dance move (and thinking she should invest in some really sticky breeches)

‘The Limited Edition’ (Spud) is an absolute delight to ride in the perfect-sized package. If you’ve ever wanted a super fun, flashy horse that will make you love every second of dressage, this beautiful gelding is your guy.

Spud is comfortably schooling all elementary movements and has begun integrating medium movements with ease. Whilst he stands at 15 1/2 hh, Spud has three big expressive paces that show a lot of promise for higher-level dressage. His extended trot is super flashy and a lot of fun.

If you want to enjoy every minute of your dressage journey, Spud is exactly what you’ve been searching for. He is an absolute pleasure to ride, gives every new concept a go without any fuss, and is a delight to handle on the ground.

Spud has been introduced to small fences and has taken it in his stride. Whilst he is green to jumping, he has a very comfortable and confident gallop that would only be an asset on the xc course.

Spud is for sale for absolutely no fault of his own. This is a truly heartbreaking decision for his owner and one that has not been made lightly. He is very much adored and the perfect home is an absolute must.

Spud will be sold with his rugs, bridle, and mounted Equipe dressage saddle.

He is an amateur-friendly gelding with a few fancy buttons so is best suited to someone who will work with a coach to progress their riding journey.

We also popped through the six bar to clear 135, just pulling one tired rail halfway through.

✨Student Spotlight✨

Izzy has been having lessons with Braelie for almost a year now — and we’re so proud of everything she’s been able to achieve in that time.

Izzy’s beautiful grey gelding King is a quirky old man who we’ve all come to love very much — even though at times he loves to make Izzy work a little harder than she should to convince him the left side of her arena isn’t that scary.

Izzy has achieved so much in the time she’s been riding with Onyx. We’ve done a fair few competitions together and each time she improves on the last with a huge smile and plenty of hugs. Izzy diligently works on every single exercise Braelie gives her between lessons and comes to every new lesson having improved due to her own hard work, making teaching her an absolute pleasure.

Any lesson with Izzy is sure to make us smile. We can’t wait to see what she achieves in the future — and we’re excited to support her every step of the way 🩵

Horse training is a core service offered by Onyx Equestrian. The individual horse is considered with a tailored training program developed to account for specific needs or particular goals.

Onyx Equestrian aims to develop horses who are confident when faced with both everyday riding and new challenges through ensuring strong technical foundations, exposure to a variety of environments and stimuli, and overall happiness.

Onyx Equestrian offers sales preparation and the presentation and campaigning of sales horses. To ensure an optimal experience, goals of the seller are discussed, and a realistic assessment is made of the available timeline, client expectations, and goals.

Sales horses are presented to the highest standard and a photo and video package is included in the service.
