DONE AND DUSTED FOR ANOTHER YEAR

What a weekend! With perfect weather and some fantastic close competition, it was another great tournament to remember.

A huge thank you to everyone who travelled near and far, played, volunteered, sponsored, worked behind the scenes, helped set up and pack down, or simply came along to enjoy the weekend. We couldn't do it without you.

A special thank you to all of our incredible sponsors for your continued support, and congratulations to all of our grade winners, Champion Ponies and Spirit of Murch Award recipients. 👏 Full results are below.

Thank you for helping make Murchison what it is, a weekend of great polocrosse, great people and lifelong memories.

First carnival of the season packing... We reckon the NT Polocrosse Association has covered it pretty well! 😆

Just a few Murch specific reminders before you hit the road:

💵 Bring CASH!
We may have EFTPOS, but it's about as reliable as a borrowed horse that "definitely doesn't pull or buck..." 😜Good old cash has never let us down!

🦟 Pack the mozzie spray!
We've had reports of a few friendly Murch mozzies making an appearance. They're very welcoming... perhaps a little too welcoming! 😅

🦘 Drive safe.
There's plenty of roos about, especially around dusk. We'd much rather see you arrive a little later than not at all.

🏕️ Bush campers, don't forget to pop into the Oasis Roadhouse and pay your camping fee when you arrive.

Safe travels everyone! Here's to the first carnival of the season. Catching up with mates, dusting off the cobwebs, and hoping the whites still fit! 🤞😆

🐴 Tuesday Tune Up: “The Polocrosse Packing Olympics”
There are two types of people in polocrosse…

1️⃣ The Over-Packer
2️⃣ The “She’ll Be Right” Operator

And somehow… both end up borrowing something by the end of the day 😄

🎒 Event Prep Begins… Chaos Ensues
You start with a simple plan:
👉 “I’ll just pack the essentials.”

Fast forward 2 hours and you’ve got:

3 bridles (just in case)
5 saddle pads
Every pair of boots you’ve ever owned
A random bucket that you don’t remember packing
And still… you feel like you’ve forgotten something important.

🤞 The Minimalist Approach
Then there’s the brave few who roll in with:

A saddle
A bridle
1 set of bells and boots
Pure confidence
Until someone says:
👉 “Hey, does anyone have…”

And suddenly they’re making friends very quickly 😂

🐎 The Horse Knows
You can be fully prepared… and your horse will still:

Lose a shoe
Break a breastplate
Decide today is the day to be “creative”
No packing list can prepare you for that curveball.

🧠 The Mental Checklist (That Fails Every Time)
On the way to the grounds:

“Did I pack my boots?”
“Where’s my helmet?”
“Did I actually bring my racquet…?”
Cue the slow panic… followed by relief (hopefully).

❤️ The Real MVPs
Let’s be real - the true champions of polocrosse packing are:

The person who always has spares 🙌
The one with the fully stocked float or truck
The legend who lends gear without hesitation
You know who you are - and we love you for it 💛
