Through regular practice of intelligent movement we could shift our story. Cultivating deeper body awareness with persistence and focus, ultimately expands our awareness to ourselves and others.

The body is the framework through which we can heal and bring positive changes into our lives.

The annual March MATness has officially begun 📢

Every year the Pilates community worldwide is celebrating the traditional 34 sequence of Pilates mat exercises. If you’ve noticed your feed is flooded with Pilates mat exercises, this is why 🙈

So I thought to myself - this is the perfect timing to start offering Pilates mat classes again 😍 I missed teaching mat classes, as much as I love the Reformer, mat is my first crush 💕

Pilates On The Deck would be an opportunity to get familiar with the roots of Pilates. Every second Sunday at 9am I’ll open my deck to have the community here for a fun dynamic Pilates class.

✔️ No experience is needed ! Come as you are. All age groups and levels are welcome

✔️ Contribution of $15 only

Authenticity in movement vs performative movement.

I get to meet a variety of different bodies in my day to day life (mainly women).
One of the things I’ve noticed is the ones who move with authenticity are more likely to improve their health and well being.

I’ll explain. I can see women who tend to be more performative in their practice. They’ll usually focus in how their body is perceived or try to impress the teacher with big fancy movements. I have no judgement over that, I think it’s natural to want to be the ‘best’. It’s actually sweet and so human. BUT, with that attempt to be seen as the best, those women are losing their integrity of movement.
Often they’ll override the sensations in their body and will go over their range of movement. This means pain and long term injuries.

In my eyes, conscious movement such as Pilates is the exact opposite! It’s meant to help you bring more awareness to the body.
This requires one to move with authenticity of what is present in the body, instead of how one thinks we SHOULD perform.

So besides the fact that authentic movement promotes health and wellness for the long term, authenticity in movement will eventually ripple forward as a thread through all aspects of life: in partnership, in relationships with self and others, in your business, the food you eat etc.
