Today the Club conducted the Oak Tree bowls morning. This mini tournament was open to all bowlers and non bowlers. Although the numbers were less than expected, all participants enjoyed the morning. Special thank you to Oak Tree Retirement Villages for their generous sponsorship and also the members of the Cancer Council staff who came along from Orange to enlighten all on the importance of regular check ups with your doctor for any signs of cancer. The earlier the detection, the greater chance of surviving cancer.
Thankyou to our Green keepers for the great greens.

The Region 12 Women's Pennants Play offs were held in Mudgee, covering games in Divisions 2, 3 and 4. All games were keenly contested and played in the true spirit of the game.

The Division 2 game between Cowra and West Dubbo was a wonderful game of pennants, with all players contributing to their team at some stage. Cowra maintained a slender lead throughout the game, finally forging ahead to win by 3 shots. This 3 shot difference was indicative of a worthy final.

Division 3 was contested between Parkes, Mudgee and Nyngan. Parkes had a very successful programme, with strong games against Mudgee and a one rink win over Nyngan. The Nyngan ladies put in a great effort in both their games, well done ladies. Mudgee found form on day 2 with a narrow win over Nyngan.
Parkes emerged as winners of the Division, half a point ahead of Mudgee, who were half ahead of Nyngan.

Division 4 games were contested by Orange Ex-Services, Bourke (first Bourke have reached Regional Play offs) and Mudgee. Orange Ex-Services played well in both their games although this was not reflected on the score board, losing narrowly to Mudgee then winning one rink against Bourke. Mudgee next played Bourke, winning one rink. Bourke won the master board by 3 points against the host club. The remaining game was a great duel between the ladies from Orange and Bourke, with both teams winning a rink and Bourke the master board. The very happy winners of the division, Bourke, will now proceed to the State finals.
Best wishes to Cowra, Parkes & Bourke who have progressed to the State Play offs.

President's Day at Mudgee WBC was changed a little this year to become Past President's Day to acknowledge all the ladies who have served as Presidents since the amalgamation in 2010 of Mudgee's two Women's Bowling Clubs. These ladies, Gail Fittler, Barbara Sampson, Jill Walsh, Eileen Falk, Ruxie Birchall and Gail Fittler, back to serve another term, have helped guide our club through times such as amalgamation, moving premises and unification with it's changing situations.
The day was also an opportunity to grant Life Membership to Club stalwarts Ruxie Birchall and Barbara Sampson. Both ladies have, over many years, devoted much time to bowls, holding many official positions at both Club and District levels, while achieving numerous titles at Club, District and Regional level, and also strongly contesting at State level. Congratulations Ruxie and Barbara.

Today the Mudgee Bowling Club, the Mudgee Women's Bowling Club and families commemorated bowling members who had passed away since the time of amalgamation of the Mudgee Bowling Club and Mudgee Soldier's Bowling Club, with the unveiling of the Club's Memorial Board. Following speeches from Gail Fittler, President MWBC, Scott Fittler, President Club Mudgee and Ron Seis, President MBC, the Memorial Board was unveiled by Colin Dowel, husband of Shirley Dowel (Life Member MWBC) who passed away February 2021. Following a talk by Kevin Pye who instigated the Memorial Board, all present observed a minute silence in memory of our former members. Both Gail & Ron thanked all family members and bowling members for attending this special event. After morning tea, 42 participants enjoyed Social Bowls. Thank you to all concerned who worked tirelessly to co-ordinate the event. Also a big thank you to the Club Mudgee staff for their generous support.
