2x Day Club Formal Match Practise.
:: Saturday 13 April 2024, Set up at 0800am
500yd, 600yd, 700yd, 800yd, all 2x sighters, 10 to score via way of NRAA SSR rules and timeings.
:: Sunday 14 April 2024, First detail at 0800am
900yd, 2 sighters with 10 to score, final being 900yd, 2 sighters with 11 to score. All 900yd to be via way of NRAA SSR rules and timeings. (these ranges wil be formally run to competion standards, there will be no oppotunity to use these ranges, in this format for sighting in requirments or load evaluation ect)).

At completion of final 900yd the range will be open for individual practise, data evaluation and so on.

This will be a great oppotunity leading up to our OPM in May. We will be utilising 5x electronic targets, so we are very much hoping the shoot rolls through smoothy. The shooting times of each range will be close to what to expect in May.

Please ensure all rifles have empty chamber indicators, all persons undertaking the shoot, to have in possesion NRA Members Card and Weapons Licence. All personal within declared area near each mound to possess and utilise ear protection.

This should be a 'must-do shoot'' for anyone of our fantasitc members who are attending this years Muckadilla 3x days Match.

thanks

The club adopted a Range Etiquette document. This will help new shooters at events to understand what is expected of them. A nice reminder for the Experienced Shooters.
Range Etiquette

Range Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Know and understand the Shooting Rules

Know your rifle zero for the ranges you are competing at. Do not turn up to a competition without knowing your rifle zero.

Always follow Range Officer (RO) instructions

Have your shooting equipment ready to compete before you hand your score card to the RO.

Be at the mound 1 half hour before competition commences.

If this shoot is your first shoot inform the RO of the situation

If you have special needs inform the RO

Know when and where you are placed in the shooting order on your target.

The First shooter has the choice of firing position (L or R on the mound)

If you are a scorer or check scorer, make sure you are ready and in position as the first shooter goes to the firing position.

After you fire your string vacate the mound as quickly as possible. Don’t take your rifle back to the car and then get your ground sheet and scope, front rest, rear bag, from the firing position.

When setting yourself up at the firing point for your string, be respectful of the competitor who is shooting before you. Do not have any influence on their result. Don’t cast shadows on the shooter while they are shooting. Wait to move into position between their shots.

Scorers make sure the score card and the shooter have the same name.

Watch the shooter fire the shot then the target or monitor for the fall of shot and the score value. In a loud clear voice call the shot number and the score. Make sure the competitor has heard any instruction and/or warning
Before clearing the monitor ask the shooter if they have finished

Do not leave the score board until you have been replaced or the final shooter has finished.

Score and check score the way you want to be scored.

After you shoot your string and have secured your equipment return to the mound ASAP.

If you are not scoring or shooting, there is no need for you to be at the mound.

If the range has score boards at each mound, then it is the responsibility of the first shooter on the current range to make sure the names are on the score board for the next range for his or her target.

If there is any need for decisions on rules or clarification the RO must be called.

The RO is the only person that can comment on a situation on the mound. It is not your place to say if the shooter or equipment is within the rules. If you believe that there is a situation which is not within the rules call the RO and discuss it with him.

When you move to the next range set your sights for that range, know your new shooting order and be prepared for the start of competition.

Be respectful of officials, competitors and volunteers - we are all here to enjoy an even and fair competition.
