12 years of lifting - 7 years of that I’ve spent powerlifting
I didn’t deadlift before I started powerlifting because I had back pain… now it’s my strongest lift!
I couldn’t bench 85kg because my shoulder was no good, now I can bench close double that!
I never thought I could step on platform and lift, always being a stage fright boy when I was younger.
I thought I was going to be a failure in school, now I’m doing what I love.
I’d never have guessed that I would be a powerlifter, or a business owner who owns a gym and works with his best mates or coaching 30+ people year round, taking them under my wing and guiding them towards their goals.
Moral of the story… anything can happen if you make the effort.
My advice:
- Don’t value money to the point where it stops you from investing in your goals.
- You earn the right to believe in yourself by your repeated actions, give yourself reasons to believe in yourself.
- Life’s short… too short to not to succeed, f**k the general way of life, work harder than you “should” and spend money on your passions.
- Be a good person, give a helping hand to those who deserve it.
- Stand up for yourself, don’t let people walk on you.
