Moriarty Park Sportsperson of the Month: April – Mt Tamborine Canungra Junior Cricket Team

This April, Moriarty Park is delighted to spotlight the Mt Tamborine Canungra Junior Cricket Team as our Sportsperson of the Month, celebrating their passion, determination, and camaraderie. The Tamborine Canungra Cricket Club’s open juniors team exemplifies the true spirit of grassroots sport—a close-knit group of mates and siblings who share not only a love for cricket but also a genuine friendship that extends beyond the pitch.

The season was filled with memorable moments, none more electrifying than their semi-final clash. With only one run needed for victory and the opposition on the brink of snatching it away with one wicket remaining, the boys displayed incredible nerve and composure. Against all odds, they held their ground, securing a heart-stopping win that sent the community into raptures.

Building on that momentum, the team faced the grand final with unwavering spirit and resilience. Although they didn’t take home the trophy, their effort and sportsmanship were nothing short of inspiring. Their support for one another, respect for opponents, and unwavering “never-give-up” attitude highlighted the true essence of sport.

More than just cricket players, these young athletes are ambassadors of friendship, respect, and community pride. Their season may have ended, but their story is a shining example of what grassroots sport can nurture—lasting friendships, character, and the joy of playing the game.

Congratulations to the Mt Tamborine Canungra Junior Cricket Team on a fantastic season. You’ve made your club, your families, and your community incredibly proud.

The Board of the TMSA have created a good old fashioned Pie Drive to raise money for the association 🥧

To sweeten the deal, the clubs which sell the most pies will get a $750 voucher for sporting equipment.
