Such a fantastic night was had at the MIRS event kindly sponsored by the QLD State Government and the World Mining Congress! Our international guests were thoroughly impressed by the sport we love! Guests even had the opportunity to rope the dummy and take a couple of pics sitting on our pride and joy horses! We cannot think of a better way to promote our little part of the world!

Winners were certainly grinners, so in no particular order, congratulations to:

Team Roping:

Ladies Breakaway:
1st: Rae-Etta Harrison
2nd: Louise Wiles
3rd: Zoe Searle

Ladies Barrel Race:
1st: Amber Battle
2nd: Fallon Muhall
3rd: Zoe Searle

Junior Barrel Race:
1st: Jack Wharton
2nd: Mitchell Wharton

Steer Wrestling:
1st: Lee Moore

It is with great sadness that we report that the winners of the mens vs ladies barrel race novelty event was awarded to.......... 3 men and shirt popping male barrel racer aka the boys team! Congrats to Volley, Luke, Lee and Kendall.

Volunteers were the heart and soul of the evening! Thank you to Keith Douglas who once again, turned it on for the crowd and lifted the entire event to another level! To Krystal and Jason McPhee who were brilliant in their respective roles of head back yard women and flag judge extraordinaire. To our newest time judges, who despite some nervous, did an exceptional job on the clock! So, thank you to Robyn Jacobson and Debbie Tracey. The back yard men are the ones who go unseen, but we cannot function without! Cheers once again to Chris and Amer! Thank you to Lee and Cody Moore for once again providing the stock, dragging the arena and doing all of the other little jobs that we know are done behind the scenes. Finally, Kristie Moore, another legend effort and event!
